Seeking help from the all-knowing experts on SPS. What is going on in my front yard. Dark lines of grass that are degrading. Local lawn & garden guys have never seen it before. Tried weed & feed spray and two separate fungicides agent. No effect. I have noticed that tall very fast growing mushrooms are appearing near these lines. Never had that before either. None of my neighbors have this issue. BTW, I have centipedegrass. Any advice is welcome. Thks.

I had centipede, once, that was the first and last time. Every year, mine got worse and worse, by year 10, I had to replace most of it.

That's not a terrible stand, I'd just roll with it and keep it mowed. Hard to treat centipede.

Thanks ffor the help, I'm heading to Kroger to pick up some Dale's. Hope there hasn't been a run on the sauce because of the war. Of course, additional advice is still welcome if the Dale's fails.

Looks fairly healthy. The mushrooms you describe scream out organic material and/or excessive nitrogen. Around May 1, or whenever your area will get some decent rain, fertilize lightly with 15-0-15 with iron, and see how it reacts before doing anything drastic. Centipede isn’t usually a demanding or sensitive turf once it’s established like yours, but it will green up and then die off in super rich, loamy soil.

Upon zooming into your picture, the dark green streaks don’t look like a water/sewer leak (which was my first thought), it looks like an irregular spray pattern of spray fertilizer. This can happen with the right combinations of strong solutions, disposable applicators, along with water pressure drops.

Being this issue is only right next to the roadway, don’t rule out the possibly of pranksters or a friend/neighbor doing this to 17 with your head.

Just mow it high & not too often. Water it if the grass is turning brown. Seriously, that’s all.

I didn't read through the replies so if someone has answered never mind. This is Fairy Ring. 2-3 apps of ProStar fungicide will cure this issue. Add in some soluble N to your tank mix to try and even out the color of the grass. If you have some areas where the grass was darker green but is starting to die, you'll want to apply a wetting agent/penetrant. Your soil in these areas are hydrophobic and repelling water.

Looks like the W&F may have got put out at a higher rate in the dark areas or something could have been on the driveway and washed down in those areas. Not sure where you are but in south MS this year centipede has taken a beating. Warm weather in Jan filled by wet wether and multiple days in the teens zapped a lot of yards. I would say give it time and you would be good. I

Looks like Fariy Ring.
Make some holes in the dark green area with a pitch fork or similar sized probe, then apply Pedigree fungicide(flutolanil) and water in repeat in two weeks . Pro Star was the old fungicide available no longer on market
