There are no words to convey the proper amount of sadness and grief that we should feel for the victims of this senseless act.Our country is better and greater than this,it is time we all stood together to offer support and prayers to everyone who suffered loss there today.

Just thought I would take a break from all the UL Threads to ask for prayer for all the victims, and their families of this horrific tragedy. At least 58 dead, and over 500 wounded, of people who only went to a country concert.
Had some friends at that concert that were running for their lives last night. All four (women) made it out, but two lost their phones in the mayhem, so that really freaked out some family members when they didn't respond for hours.

Can't imagine the helplessness they felt out in the open while having nowhere to run and not knowing where the shots were coming from.

I have no problem with people owning a gun but how could automatic rifles be legal unless you are in law enforcement?

You need a classification to obtain them. You have to be completely clean, and in lots of cases certain FA's are only able to be sold through dealer to dealer

My family owns more than one. There's nothing wrong with owning them.

We just went through this. Had he ran over the crowd killing 50 no one would be asking to ban the truck. I just don't understand how many times we have to go through this.

And hell, half the country thinks law enforcement is just running around guning down unarmed men. Now they are the only ones we want armed?

This is a tragic accident and we live on earth. You will never stop it. Mourn and move on, it's all we can do.

Prayers to those who've been effected. It shouldn't be a politicized issue but it will be.

Here we go.

My suggestion, let's just keep it to prayers and condolences. We all know and understand there are two sides to this argument; it was hashed out in a 20 pager years ago after dozens of children lost their lives in a small elementary school up north.

There is no winner after a thread like that, just a bunch of butt hurt posters, and lost sentiment.

My prayers are with the victims and their families. I consider most of you knuckleheads in this site friends; lets stick together and just mourn for our neighbors today.

Tragic accident? Like he was walking through his room, stumbled, knocked the window out, and obliterated the lives of hundreds of people with an fully automatic assault rifle.

I own guns and don't have a problem with people owning them but full auto offers no benefit to a private citizen other than recreational purposes right?

People use cars everyday to go to work and be productive in society. What is the purpose of full auto weapons being legal?

It's awful what this country/world is going through today. It's all hate. Why can't we all come together. There is no reason for this happen and it has to stop. I don't know how you can prevent this but it has to happen soon.

Sigh......

Any attempted ban of any weapon is disguised policy. This is well known and understood.

Did you know if you've got the right paper work and cash you can have a tank? Yes, that's right. You can own it.

These laws create a divide between the haves and the have nots. That's all they do. Rich guys will ALWAYS be allowed to own them, all a new law will do is take them from you and I.

I'm not totally sure what you think the threshold is for protection from a tyrannical government, but I think you'd agree a .380 and single shot rifle is not enough to offset it.

There's people who think history doesn't repeat and our government today are good guys. I don't.

In the state of emergency that the people should need to form a militia, you'd have a large chunk of the military joining as well. Theoretically we would want them armed to the teeth to fight the tyranny.

Nothing good comes from allowing governments to dictate the right of the people to own any weapon of their choosing.

I'm not starting this conversation I'm just answering the question.

I mean you have to draw the line somewhere right? What about nuclear weapons? Those could come in handy in a revolution.
