OT: Knoxville Restaurants

We’re driving up next Friday morning and leaving Sunday morning. Need some food options for Friday and Saturday night. Never been to Knoxville before other than just driving through on the way to the mountains. Any restaurant advice would be appreciated.

All kinds of info at this link....BTW, in the middle 1960's went with friends to see UT and ate at a nice place called The Rathskeller.....don't know if it is still open in Knoxville, but is in other cities....

I go there quite often with my prized sow for competitions. Don’t fall for the Copper Cellar recs from UT fans. Don’t bother with Calhoun’s on the river either. It’s bad food in a old, smelly environment. It’s location is what keeps it open. If you like sushi go to Nama on Kingston Piiiiiiike. The square downtown has a lot of options on it for everyone. There’s several trendy options on Gay St which is downtown as well.
Enjoy your trip. It’s a great town.

Went to JC Holdway last time I was there. It was excellent.

Second on the Market Square area. Several good options there. Cool area.
