I don’t have Netflix. So if it isn’t too much trouble could one of you fine gentlemen bullet point some of the interesting tidbits?
Him coming from oil money was false, his buddy drummed up that story to the media so it would take pressure off of how was Johnny football doing all these expensive things . They were getting paid in cash to sign autographs and then he was giving cash to his grandpa who in turn would fill Johnny’s bank account.

His family does have a well known reputation for being ‘slick’

Dude was into money laundering before he was 20 .. he totally should have fit in in Cleveland. But the kid didn't love the game .. he loved what the game gave him.

Shocking honesty in the doc. Maked me both hate & feel for Manziel at the same time.

Also his Agent had devised a plan for one of Manziel’s parents to admit themselves into the hospital so he could leave the combine before he would get drug tested on day 2 of the combine (didn’t end up happening due to Manziel flushing his system like a maniac to clear up his test).

Unbelievable job they did to get the kid drafted in round 1.

I agree, I like him more now that he wasn’t rich and that he was just a squirrel looking for a nut in college. Just a dumbass though

I thought the doc was ok. Not great, but still entertaining at times. His grandfather had about three seconds of screen time in the doc when they were explaining how he assisted in laundering the money. They cut to grandpa who lets out a laugh and it cuts away. That was funny. The whole story of his buddy getting 20% to be the fall guy was believable, but they seemed to leave out a big chunk of story as to why they never spoke again when Manziel went pro. There is WAY more to the story than both of them let on. It was refreshing to see a former player come out and tell the stories of all the shady stuff you know a ton of them are doing behind closed doors. He seems to really enjoy life and goes out and lives it. I tailed off at the end and stopped paying attention. Did he ever quit drinking or at least slow down a ton? He needed to. Being a drunk idiot was 90% of his problems.

That's completely fair...but I loved it for two reasons:
1) Pissing all over the NCAA
2) Despite being a drunk idiot, he was still f'ing incredible at football for a while and entertaining to watch

It was pure entertainment to me...just a slow motion trainwreck.

Made a lot of money too fast obviously it went to his head and no longer wanted to work to get better and no longer had fun playing professionally...

Parents seemed like they wanted to be friends instead of being parents..

“We walked off the field like f$@$ing G’s”

He was something else back in the day for sure.

Hard to say. But I'm not sure the booze was the issue anyway...at least not the biggest issue. Seemed his biggest problem was oxy and blow. But the documentary did kind of end with him drinking beer with his buddies. He's supposedly opening a night club in College Station soon, so doesn't seem like much has changed. Overall though, I wasn't picking up on a whole lot of remorse or humility during that show. Kind of the opposite. He almost seemed proud of all the stupid crap he did to flush it all down the drain.

Texas A&M used the fourth spring qb’s urine for Manziels since they know Johnny boy couldn’t pass.

Good not great. The one about the hockey team owned by the mob was really good. Really liked the AND1 documentary too.

Agree, it was just alright. I never rooted for Manziel so maybe I'm coming from a place of negativity anyway but this doc really didn't make me want to change my mind about him. He seems like kind of a turd.

Manziel was kind of a slow motion car wreck. Deep down, you knew all of his antics were not going to fly in the NFL, but you wanted to see it unfold anyway.

Dynamic college player and a lot of fun to watch. I don’t think he took advice from the right people, or maybe his skill set never was going to translate to the NFL.

As the infamous Paul Harvey would say,
"and now you know...the rest of the story".

Enjoyed it also.
