Love Farley, and Tommy Boy is great, but Candy's longer career and classics like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, The Great Outdoors, Spaceballs, Uncle Buck, Stripes, Summer Rental, and even Who's Harry Crumb are too much.

Del Griffith as a shower curtain ring salesman is just greatness.

Candy’s depth of greatness is superior to Farleys, but I’ll take Tommy Boy over anything in Candy’s library. His SNL skits were the stuff of legend. Matt Foley, Chippendales, the coffee commercial, etc…. Dude gave it all to entertain.

For Candy, Spaceballs, The Great Outdoors and Planes, Trains and Automobiles stand the test of time. Different comedic styles, but greatness from both.

Both great who went to soon, going through their catalog it’s tough. I’d go to with Candy, Uncle Buck just wins me over. Damn Farley is great though

John Candy was far superior in the long form. You didn't grow tired of him because he was actually a really good actor. Farley was great in Tommy Boy, but he was far superior in the short form. Give that guy three minutes and he was a supernova. He was perfect for SNL when they were still funny. Matt Foley and Chippendales were perfection. Gap girls was hilarious. My favorite memory of him was I think his first appearance ever on SNL. Dennis Miller was doing the news and they had a bit with Roseanne Barr and Tom Arnold played by that dingy blond chick and Farley. Farley just went nuts as Tom Arnold to perfection and dropped trou showing a tattoo on his *** of Roseanne. Dennis Miller genuinely looked stunned and looked at the camera saying "Did we already see the new guys ***?" It was awesome.

I don’t know love both, anything but this horrible game talk haha.
John Candy by a mile, and I liked Farley. Candy was a rare talent that could play over-the-top comedic roles and take on more serious characters and still be funny. Hollywood lost a lot when he died.

Candys meeting with principal scene in Uncle Buck is my favorite of all, Farley was great, would have had multiple funny parts in future movies. His most underrated character is the bus driver on billy Madison.
