The longtime singer and actor passed away due to his inability to undergo surgery to repair his aortic valve.
In the late 50's,he was "Moondoggie" in Gidget,one of the first beach movies.He also sang the title song.
He moved on to television,his most notable role was co-starring in The Time Tunnel.
