Someone is not too sharp in this thread.

Sometimes this board has a "Mean Girls" feel to it. Calling someone not sharp because they missed an inside joke seems awfully insecure.

inside joke? And I wouldnt say it isnt being sharp, it is saying that there are times you need to understand your surroundings. Too many times our posters just want to post what they want to say without looking. No different then someone asking for info on a vacation for a family of 4, kid friendly and with limited budget. You end up within 5 posts there starts to be the guys that only want to brag about their around the world trips, Fuji dives, etc...Or the guy asking about a Accord and you get advice on a Tesler. Anyone with more than a 1000 posts should kind of know who 4real is...just saying

Mean Girls? LOL!

There are 2 things to consider:

A) If you've been on this board any amount of time, then you know when it comes to @RU4Real this applies:

B) The below thread was at the top of the board when he started this one:

OT: Final Day of AIM

OP's post was fine and in fun. It's yours that would have made the ladies in my wife's pta proud. I'm not saying it was malicious, just seems like some of the newer/less active posters would definitely be turned off.

I actively filter people through sarcasm, but calling out people for not getting a joke from another thread seems a bit much.

Imagine if someone told them phone numbers used to have letters. (Or so I am told by @MrsScrew ) LOLOL

My cousins who grew up in Mr. Dora, FL didn't know that a phone number had 7 digits until I got into an argument with them about it. There were so few people on the local exchange that they only had to dial the last 4 to call anyone in town.

I can imagine how they felt when you told them about shoes!

At least we don’t have anybody lame enough to inject, apropos of nothing whatsoever, inappropriate hookers and blow jokes.

Okay... AIM seems to be working now...

For some reason, the system is now hosted by a firm in Moldova and I had to give them a credit card... but otherwise, seems to work fine.

Consider that a significant percentage of the current "younger generation" may have no idea what a dial tone is.
Consider that a significant percentage of the older generation has no idea what "AIM" is. I'm not sure if they're behind their time or ahead of their time.
