Being them back. There are so many brake lights out at night now. I saw 3 on the way home tonight.
You don’t have to have inspection stickers to write this ticket. But 1 brake light isn’t PC. You have to have 2 brake lights out for it to be worthy of a stop.
1/3 - no stop
2/3 - stop
3/3 - you are probably a felon or a sixpacker

We have bigger issues than broken brake lights.
it’s seems no one cares that a light turns red when they are turning. 2-3 cars continue to pass through the turn. I teach my kids (one of which is driving) if you are at the front of the line and the light turns green, wait a second and look both ways because people will run it. It’s happening everywhere

I would be in favor of bringing back the cameras that used to give tickets for running a red light. It’s dangerous. Just don’t do it.

I love to hammer it on green. Let that 3rd car thru the read **** their pants. I have made more than a few vehicles slam on their brakes and force them to back up.

Do you know a constable could give tickets for inspection stickers? I got one on 45 once.

I was too poor to afford a windshield at that time.

Tie insurance to your tag. That'd make some folks learn four way stops or they'd finally stay at home for a change.

Also are there no noise ordinances anymore? The exhaust or lack there of on vehicles these days is way worse than kids jamming music down the street that would get you pulled over back in the day.

You b so know that no one ever actually checked you car for the $5 fee don’t you. You drive up, hand them $5 and a sticker is on it a few seconds later. No inspection was ever done.

What about the Round-A-Bouts
2 in OB
Gotta be careful and have eyes all around
For a couple of weeks they had this big sign entering the roundabout telling you to use your turn signal to indicate which way you were going in the roundabout. All that did was confuse people more. The one down at Johnson Beach kills me, it’s barely big enough to get four cars in it at the same time.

I’m not worried about getting hit at a four way. What pisses me off is the 17 wad that’s already sitting at the stop before other cars arrive and thinks he’s being nice letting someone else go first causing mass confusion. First come first go only works if the first guy gets out of the way.

Good luck getting any new legislation passed to add back something like that. And then there's enforcement of it. Vehicle condition, speeding, distraction, red light running. Nearly nothing is enforced these days. msugrad03 is right that there is greater urgency to some of these over others because of their impact to people beyond just themselves, but risky behaviors usually travel in bunches.

Wife’s Subaru, not a lesbian I’ve checked, came with windshield insurance for five years from Subaru. They will fix it or replace it free of charge.

They would have hated me during the 10yrs I was in sales, I was driving all day every day all over MS, LA, AL, and panhandle of FL and if I had replaced them all it would have been 1 or 2 a month minimum. It was lots of miles on interstates and then short hauls through some of the worst 2 lanes in those states than back to the interstate and I constantly had broken ones

Green = Go
Red = Stop
Yellow = Punch It
Seriously, this is a huge issue everywhere you drive. Also, the hesitation on a left-turn signal by the car at the front of the line causes this issue. Especially when the green arrow lasts 5 seconds or less. Pay attention and be ready!

I would be all for inspections if they did actual inspections maybe like every three to five years and got things repaired or off the road. To do that you have to get the care up on a rack with an actual mechanic. But this is Mississippi, and we can't have nice things because they are racist.

No way I want to go back to the way it was.

This infuriates me, the "do gooder" drivers. Just drive across MSU campus and check the number of drivers from foreign countries that do this, its like they are petrified to go so they wait for a break where there are no other cars even left to go and they they will proceed. I have severe road rage and this is one of the worst triggers for me.

This, and the MFers that you sit and wait for in an intersection for them to pass on through then they turn onto the street that you are sitting at without signaling. You've sat there and waited for them to go past you then they turn by you while staring at their damn phones. USE YOUR DAMN BLINERS AS-SHOLES so I can go ahead and turn!!!!!

Exactly. If you want to be nice, follow the traffic laws and everyone go when it's your turn.

Problem with an effective vehicle inspection requirement is a lot of people in Mississippi simply can't afford to fix their vehicle. So what do you do?

I understand that. But descent brakes and steering, headlights and taillights should be mandatory. Cosmetics don't really matter.

The US needs stricter laws on getting a drivers license. Something along the lines of Germany.

I nearly turned a small sedan into a pile of scrap metal a few weeks ago because of their abject stupidity. They slowed down in the right lane, bunched up the cars behind them, and then turned in front of me in the left lane cruising and just under 70 to turn around in one of those breaks in the median that is for emergency and official vehicles only. They turned in front of me and just appeared out of nowhere. They better be glad I still have my reflexes from playing those racing games on PlayStation when I was a teenager or they would have been broadsided by a 7000 lb Armada at almost 70 and would be in the clay right now. Had to squeeze between those cable barriers and the highway on the grass and gravel at full speed. The vehicle behind me had to slam on their brakes and come to a full stop, on the 4 lane highway, to let their *** go into that turnaround so they didn't have to go on to the next exit a half mile away and turn around properly.

I didn't breathe again for about a half mile. And then it was cussing their mere existence on this planet. Things like that is why most Highway patrolmen have bad attitudes.
