So turns out Ingalls employees have until December 8th to be fully vaccinated or will be let go. I still work there and only have one vaccine, I don’t want to get the second.

There are a LOT of pissed off people that are leaving the company. Over a thousand in a Facebook group that are planning on a walkout, local news stations are trying to get interviews, upper management is threatening to quit.

Keep an eye on this, it’s going to be bad.

Many people in different sectors are waiting on unions to rule, because they think they will help them stay unvaxxed. Guess what, unions are ruling IN FAVOR of the mandated vaccine. Because why? Safety, of course. It's 1,000 times safer to get the vaccine than to allow unvaxxed to continue to spread the crap.

It's not about safety. It's about health insurance costs. Plenty of unions have pushed back against mandates. They are less likely to do so if they are convinced that the healthcare costs are going to hit them. I know a few business owners that (appropriately) thought that the risks to vaccinated workers didn't justify mandates, but decided to push mandates hard when they realized what kind of healthcare costs would get passed on to all employees if they had a half dozen employees that had significant ICU stays.

I see and agree with your point. I have been vaccinated. I was in the Marine Corps. All those shots they gave me every time I deployed and the time I enlisted and went to boot camp have been around for 50 years some even longer. We know the long term effects of those shot. We do not really know the long term effects. Most likely will be none. That's not really a good way to argue.

I had all the normal side effects plus the constant ringing in my ears, which I never said was from the vaccine- just seemingly got worse after it.

I also have a rare auto immune disorder called Muckle Wells. There is little research on vaccinated people with the disorder and how they’ll react long term to the vaccine or hell even short term.

I had weird side effects after my first shot too that lasted about 18-hours. Had zero issues with the second one. Based on my family, coworkers, and friends - the ones that had side effects had them on one shot or the other, not both…

That's a little harsh towards fat people. I don't understand how we are 18 months into a pandemic that hits overweight people this hard without seeing a significant drop in obesity rates and people losing weight left and right, but I guess lots of places have had gyms shutdown.

Even though I'm vaccinated, this vaccine mandate has the potential to throw gasoline onto the already smoldering fire that is our supply chain. This country is about to find out what "going without" really means if the powers that be don't start addressing it ASAP.

You seem like a case for a potential medical exemption. Really should get advice from a doctor who understands your specifics. Unfortunately, many of the people who could easily get vaxxed and help lessen your risk of being exposed are some combination of selfish/stupid/scared more of a shot than a virus that is inexplicable in rational terms, given the data that we now have.

Fear of the virus has also gotten out of hand. Local news is hardly mentioning new cases and deaths. Hell there's more stories on medical pot on the WLBT website.

What do you say to those that were exposed to Covid and unvaccinated, but didn't turn up positive yet they get vaccinated and get Covid? I know numerous people who traveled all over the states from late 2018 to now without being vaccinated or testing positive for Covid. Several of them have gotten the vaccine due to a verbal mandate and have now tested positive.

What's the magic number (%) of vaccinated that it's going to take to "end Covid"?

Where are you getting any information or indicator that I said I am refusing the second shot? Quit assuming. At the end of the day, I’ll do what I have to do to support my family. I only said that I don’t want the second one, not that I won’t get it.

This virus goes immediately and sets up in your chest. Like first day immediate. Severe coughing. Headaches. Bad sinus pains. Fever. Isolation from family. Loss of smell. Taste affected.

One of the biggest miscalculations of this mandate is the flat ignoring of natural antibodies. If you test positive for antibodies… why should you need a vaccine?

case in point… my significant other brought Covid home from her medical job last October. Prior to the public rollout. She had the most prevalent symptoms of mild flu like symptoms and I had surprisingly few symptoms. But we both tested positive for it.

Since then… the “Delta” variant has circled through and some of the patients have had it. She has been in contact and obviously was exposed. There was a day or two that she was just tired but bounced back with no symptoms whatsoever. Obviously it was brought home again.

So if you spring for an antibody test and you have them… what is the problem? You are better prepared for Covid with natural immunity and you don’t carry the viral load around like some of the MRNA vaccinated folks are.

So natural immunity should be considered. Since it’s ignored… that’s another arrow in the quiver of conspiracy theorists.

I personally know 3 people who were vaccinated and still got covid and got sick. I see many vaxxed people who still catch covid and even some that still die from it. Its not very effective obviously. On top of that my doctor advised against it as did two nurses. Why do we have thousands of Healthcare workers being fired for refusing it if its so good? If we are in such a dangerous pandemic that is overloading the hospitals why would they be firing Healthcare workers for refusing the vaxx??

I know of a recent nursing grad. Gets "dream job" at UMMC. Vax mandate comes down. Quits. 24yo. Inconceivable. Parents are both far right conspiracy theorists/anti-vaxxers, so I supposed they don't mind supporting the kid? People are crazy and a lot of them are dying because of it right now.
