It made a ton of money this weekend. I sort of thought it might "flop" to some degree but that doesn't look like it will happen.
Rumors are it needs about 700 million to break even and everything after that is profit.
I think it was at 235 over the weekend. It will probably be over 400 million in a week.
By the end of August it will be over 800 million.
I won't see it in the theater but I might end up watching it online.

yeah, the only time I get to see somewhat new movies are on airplanes these days..

It really was an amazing movie....if you are an animal lover good luck not crying. Those worried about casting the character of Helen of Troy is on screen for maybe 90 seconds. Id bet Leguizamo gets a supporting actor nomination as well.
I watch the Ten Commandments every year faithfully with my family. One of my favorites of all time but we know damn well ...
Do we really need to start pulling receipts for the numerous films where white people were cast as other groups? Hypocrites SMH I didn't agree with the casting choice as well but get over yourselves... They've been whitewashing for centuries but God forbid they cast a black woman for your precious fictional character. At the end of the day the movie was great and I'll be watching just like the Ten Commandments.
If you like watching unhappy couples stuck in a train wreck of a marriage, where they i nsult each other for a couple hours, I suggest you give "The Invitation" a go.
Jesus, this might be the best movie ever.
Mel knows how to do it right. And authentic. Apocalypto. The Passion. The Resurrection will be amazing.

Helen of Troys mother was a swan, theres a 6 headed sea monster, a 3 headed hell hound, a cyclops, giant cannibals and several different Gods. Its not accuracy people seem to he upset with because its make believe...its black people on the screen
