Since the Huskers don't wrestle this weekend until tomorrow (@ Ohio State), hope everyone had a chance to watch the finals today. There were two 4-time individual state champions and Plainview (Class D) won their first ever state title.
They do it to try to keep people in the stands by watching history. There were 2 wrestlers that were going for their 4th title and they had to pick one. IMO, they picked the wrong one, but I understand why they do it. In years past, when they started at 106, there were hardly any fans left in the stands too. My son wrestled for the state title as a heavyweight before they started doing this, and there were probably 500 people there to watch it when he wrestled.NSAA is clueless... They made their feature match the last match of the day of the finals..... There was probably a thousand people still around for that match.
Congrats to Boyer and company!
Big pep rally at school yesterday afternoon, which I had to miss, to honor and recognize the state champs from Plainview! Supposed to get uploaded to school website at some point, if you are interested.

I think it was four years ago, Boyer brought his team to a wrestling camp in Helena and I helped him find some place decent to camp along the Missouri River. Other than a wind storm, and a tent being blown away, I think they had a good time!
Great to hear! The MT Intensive wrestling camp in Helena fizzled out a little a couple of years ago and I believe is shifting to Great Falls or Kalispell??? Not sure, but now I am curious! Finally had a chance to talk to Coach Boyer to congratulate him and the team on the state championship. Sounds like they had a great time at the Montana camp and will be making a return trip this coming summer (but not in Helena?). Said the guys that went still use a couple of the moves they learned at the camp.
Is the old Randolph coach still around assisting in Plainview?
