OT: How many hours do you work per week?

My wife and I own our own embroidery/personalization and gift shop in Irmo and I average about 60 -70 hours per week. During the Christmas season I will average about 100 hours per week.
About 45-50 and that feels like a lot. Truly can't imagine many more unless I was working for myself.

Most of the year 55 to 60. Normally paid for 40 (considered an exempt position), unless I cash out PTO (which makes me feel my hourly rate is more acceptable mentally).
Recently went to the boss with the feelings of being underpaid. Gave them my effective hourly rate and listed the other positions that put me in line with. Their response was, you're just working too much.
I blacked out and envisioned myself hurling across the desk and taking him out. this person is so out of touch with what goes on operationally at our company. However, most CEOs with solid management below them are. Especially those in the c-suite who worked their way up. They always diminish the work, "because they were there before", even if it was 25% the size it is now.

(love my job - and if it weren't for people putting their money at risk and skills to work - i'd not have this one, but why not get paid as much as possible too)

40 per week here, and an occasional hour or two on weekends for the past 36 years. Gov't contractor - happy and fortunate to have had this job for so long.
That's a load of hours for most of you. Do you choose to work that much to support your lifestyle or is it required?
It just seems to me anything more than 40-45 is too much.
My idea of success has been to work as little as possible and still be content. It's a different line for everyone, but life ain't about work.

If you are content then that's all that matters. People are soo different. I enjoy what I do and of course could use more money but in the end I work the amount I want to and rarely more. Everyone has a different level of success that feels right to them. Everyone has different skill sets and personalities.
It depends but I would say I somewhere between 50-55 hours a week with a high of 80 and a low of 40 (rare).

Normally 40 hours unless it requires my assistance for an after hours issue that is considered production critical. The 2nd Sunday of each month is my IT maintenance window so I have 4 hours I can use if needed.
it is important for me to be great at my job, the amount of work i'm given by my bosses doesn't allow me to be great for 40-45 hours... 4-6 am and 5-7 pm are where i make the difference.
plan to 'retire' by 45 and be down to a 30-40 hour job by then.
don't need to do it to support my lifestyle, over half of wages go to savings and investment.
Depends. In sales you if you are killing it you might work 30 hours a week but if not 50+
I work as much as I do because I'm considered an exempt employee and I have a huge work load. I'm also trying to get a Director position and I am trying to distinguish myself from the rest of the pack.

If I'm honest though, prob waste close to 90 mins a day between lunch, Tiger Illustrated, and chatting.
So more like 31 hrs. I know a lot of people want to "kill it while they're young" and that's great but just not for me. I'd rather work as little as possible now while I'm young, family and such, and if I have to work more when I'm 55 and empty nest then fine. My dad told me he did it backwards in retrospect.
