Disagree some days your alignment could be a hair off, if you generally open up and push a putt opening up the blade it's something that will follow you all day. Its extremely hard to correct on the course everything needs to happen while they are warming up
You didn’t actually give his post merit or think he was serious did you?

Any body ever 7 putt a hole? Did it once on a short hole with a front to back tilted green,On in one but the ground was frozen and the ball kept sliding by the cup. Finally hit it dead center from a couple of feet away. Took an 8 on a 118 yd par 3.(not a pitch and putt course)

True story ran into a stretch from 90 yds in I was shank city no matter what I did couldnt stop it...so I'm at Twin Brooks CC 65 yds out pull out my putter my buddy looks at me...are you kidding me. I'm like the fairways real tight yeah. 65 yd putt within a FT of the hole. Needless to say he was not happy he lost the hole. Wasn't happy it came down to putting but knew my wedge was done
Went to range and shanked every wedge to get rid of it I had to walk away from golf for 3 weeks and shanks went away after at least a month if shanks

Before I gave up golf in the name of humanity, putting was actually my best part of the game. Doesn't mean much though if it takes you twice the shots to get on the green!
My favorite "club", in my bag, was my ball retriever. Main aim was to come home with more balls than I left home with.

Miss the early days when I was a kid 10yrs old my brother would drop me off at Galloping Hill at 7-8 am every day and my dad would pick me up 8:30 to 9pm every night. Carried my bag 54 holes a day for $4.50 a day I'd pass the pitch and putters who paid like $6 for 1/2hr and laugh as I was on hole 54.

I'd shop up in Jean shorts, tshirt and sneakers and be a single on the 1st tee and all the golfers dressed in their apparel head to toe would talk about me on the 1st tee like they were stuck with Me and this was going to be a horrible day...by the 2nd hole they realized I was better than them as I was out driving them by 40 yrs then I'd hear how great I was for the next 16 holes. Played a few jr amateur tourneys but was married to baseball and didnt make the switch
Except for the jorts and t-shirt (which I find hard to believe), that was my exact summer. My mom used to drop us off at Galloping Hill and we played a minimum of 36 holes a day (at least 4 days a week). Used to be $3 plus lunch money. We carried leather staff bags up and down hose hills in 95 degree weather back in the 80’s. Best times of my life. I think they ruined Galloping Hill single nine with the redesign. The regular 18 is still fine. Only play it every other year now, but that will still be my home course. Oak Ridge was the course I first broke 80. Too bad they killed that one.

Cut off Jean shorts and t shirt. Didnt get golf shoes until 11 or 12. No joke I have about 100 eagles on th 9th hole single 9. Drove the 6th green probably 30 times.
Agreed they ruined the single 9. Before the driving range. Family wasn't rolling in money but for $4.50 was entertained for 12 hrs a day

Played one day I was o par 3 7th and 2 people in group ahead of me had hole in one on the 8th hole par 3

We are talking 1976-77

I’m not blaming age on Tigers putting woes.
But, I would bet you 95% of the champions tour players will tell you they don’t putt as well now as they did when they were young...certainly there are exceptions.

Speith’s problems are in real team, relative to making everything he looked at.
Zappaa, cannot agree. I marshall the Allianz Open, a champion tour event on my home course. Greens are notoriously difficult, undulating, and lightening fast. Seniors like Callacecchia, Langer, etc. handle them unbelievably compared to the Honda Open, a PGA event that I have also marshalled. The lowering of dexterity is more than made up by experience, especially on courses they play regularly or yearly. What they lack in yardage off the tee is made in their short game.
