bought a 2016 Club Precedent About 3 weeks ago. Dealer put on brand new pro series xld made by Trojan on. Yesterday got a call from the course mgr saying it was smelling like rotten eggs. I googled it and apparently it’s hydrogen sulfide being put off from the batteries which can be highly flammable and dangerous if inhaled. My question is this common bc they are new or did they overcharge. It had been on charge for a week and he said the charger was still charging so he unplugged it.

sounds like a charging problem...no way a charger should continue to charge that long...batteries may be cooked

Charger?

Other than the batteries is everything else original. If so charger should be “smart” and shut off when batteries are fully charged. If aftermarket charger could be your problem. Not familiar with Trojan XLD. Know about their T series 875 and 890’s

Yes everything else is original. My charger is an ERIC smart charger. It was showing fully charged when the guy noticed it so I was wrong earlier when I said it was still charging. He just said he noticed a smell and could hear a sizzling noise coming from the battery when he lifted up the seat( not good I would think).

I’m calling the guy tomorrow who installed them and see what he says. For now I’m just going to bring it home and watch it. Can’t play anyway bc our course has closed until further notice. Just didn’t want to leave it sitting there unplugged for however how long it may be.
