I made no assumptions, nor did I mention race, or refer to anything race related, at all.Boss made an assumption. I explicitly refused to make any assumptions. Go back and reread if you don't believe me.
Meanwhile, you still haven't explained what it is you're trying to say about the people in Golden Corral. Why is fighting over food animalistic but killing people over race or religion or oil or sexual preference, or geopolitical power NOT animalistic? Because there was a whole lot of that going on in the past 100 years. You know, back in the good old days.
You say that things are much worse today than back in the good old days and you're using this Golden Corral video as evidence. But for whom, exactly, were things so much better? Because back in the "good old days", black males were hung from trees for looking at white females. I don't know about you, but that sure doesn't sound so much better for the folks being hanged, ya know?
Were the white people hanging black people animals? What about slave owners? Were they animals? Or was hanging an innocent man and/or treating another human being as property less bad than tossing a chair at someone?
I'm going to predict that your response will be mostly a personal attack, if there's any response at all. It's okay. I'm used to it.

Mildone did not make any assumptions - in fact he went out of his way to explicitly make it clear he was not going to make assumptions as to what you might have been thinking. I'm not sure how you might have missed this other than just plainly not reading / comprehending what others have posted.
Back to the video.....I can't believe the waitress was in the middle of it trying to stop things while chairs and tables were being thrown around right behind her. Miracle she was not hit in the back or head and seriously injured.
love the onion soup and 24oz steaks...I need a little fat to give it some flavor

Any fans of Outback Steakhouse? When we lived in Cincinnati, OH, that was our go to place on Friday nights for decent seafood specials. Steaks were always OK too.
Any fans of Texas Roadhouse?
Have been to 2 Outback's...the 2 varied wide apart in satisfaction for me...one great ...the other not so great.
Been to 2 Longhorns...not bad in both.
Been to Roadhouse in Holmdel...think of Applebee's type food...not really steak specialty. I don't know, maybe I caught them on a bad night

Arthur's is still in business, but has never been anything other than crap.
Outback is a solid go-to, in that it's consistent and their cook & seasoning technique doesn't harm the cut.
Longhorn is a step down from Outback but still good enough for the money, most of the time.
Texas Roadhouse is awful.

I seem to recall Arthur’s was better when it was owned by the same guy that owned the one in Madison. But, I could be way off. I haven’t been there for over 20 years.
Agree that the steaks were not that good even back then, but the burgers were always pretty good. Plus, I knew a bartender back then, so always got the hookup.
Yeah I went there once, service was terrible and the steak wasn't much better.
I'm feeling for a good steak local. Not served on a metal plate with a shriveled up baked potato in aluminum foil.

There's a Ruth's Chris in Princeton. Not "world class", but marginally better than, say, Steakhouse 85.
Never been to the Princeton one. Been to several elsewhere in the country. And they're okay, not horrible. But also not great. Never been to Steakhouse 85, surprisingly since I like beef so much.
I found the Wolfgang's in Somerville to be decent, probably better than most of the Ruth's Chris's I've been to. However I was only there twice, I think. And it was at least 3 years ago.
The best steak I've ever had was at the Capital Grille in DC. I'm sure I've mentioned it in the past. That kind of ruined me a bit for steak since I've never been able to duplicate it at home or find one quite as good out.
The second best was some famous side-of-the-highway seafood "shack" in
Jeez, I'm starving now.
Edit: So the seafood place with the great steak was actually a place called Woody's. Not in Delaware, but in a town called North East, MD. Had to phone a friend to get those details right. Nothing wrong with my memory; it's just short.

Capitol Grill is awesome - even more because if you work for a big company and have dinners out with colleagues and / or customers, it's a major go-to and pretty much always makes for a fun, alcohol-fueled evening.
There's a Sullivan's outside of Wilmington, DE that's pretty good, too.
Having a company pay for it would be nice. CG ain't exactly inexpensive. At least not the one in DC; no idea if they're all the same or if prices vary.
This thread caused me to reach out to a friend and go out for steak for dinner tomorrow.

One of top 10 US steak houses. A little silly but you get to select your own steak knife. Wonderful dinner and great wine list.
Looked it up and already made plans with my daughter for later in the month. Menu looks good. I might even drag another couple/few kids along and make a party of it.

I knew a very successful general counsel like that. Ate dinner several times a week at GC. He was from the south; think he lived in Arkansas. No wife, ate alone, enjoyed familiarity with the staff, who treated him like family. Great guy. I have only been to a GC once; wasn’t great.
Enjoy. I have also been to Capital Grille in both DC and Philadelphia and like all 3. My favorite steak house is Smith and Wollensky in South Beach. Love to sit outside at the back bar for appetizers (great Calamari) and drinks and watch cruise ships leave between South Beach and Fisher Island.Looked it up and already made plans with my daughter for later in the month. I think I might've had it one time, when joining you and J for dinner there. Can't recall. But it would be unlike me to ever pass up on carpaccio.
Hey- Didn’t you once tell us that you go through something like 3lbs of ground beef per week? In comparison a once a month trip to Sizzler is healthy eating.
That was for 4 people during the first few months of COVID, when we were eating at home much more, which is 3/4 of a pound per person per week, which isn't really that much. Probably at 1-2 pounds per week for 4 now.
I remember him posting that he was buying 12# of ground beef per visit when there was a National shortage.
