It will be interesting to see how he does in that league. I always thought he had a chance to develop in a couple of years. Right now I wish we still had Antwone Woolfolk based on what I saw yesterday.
Well I was in the right city.
Nice to hear Woolfolk is doing well. Sadly he was overmatched in Big Ten play when he was at Rutgers.
I think fans here were too tough on Derek, Antwone, and Lathan. But it's not like we were putting out all-star teams. All three had significant flaws--but also games in which they played very well. On a team full of players with flaws, theirs (Derek's shooting most glaringly) seemed to take the most heat.
To be honest took me a few seconds to remember St. Joes
Derek had to take on a bigger role than he could probably handle his 2 years here. With that said, both he and Woolfolk seem like your classic AAAA baseball players. High level MAC players but not a clear role at the P5 level. The real issue is staffs inability to find a competent B10 center.

Well, I don't think so, but then again, Rider is pretty bad. Their NET is 314 today, and Delaware State's is 305, but that's so little data for this year. Gut feeling is that Rider beats them on a neutral court.

Lathannwas pretty darn good as a freshmen. I’d take him on this years roster for sure !!
I thought Gavin just needed some confidence and he would become a good player. Confidence is so important in shooting and overall play in BB.
I agree. The bar was set way too high for him and he couldn't handle the expectations.

From reading some of his interviews, it seems like the game finally slowed down for him and he’s figured out how to process what’s in front of him.
It should not come as a total surprise that he has done well with Temple. Even his most vociferous critics on this board seemed to concede that he was an athlete and had some potential. Even so, I would not have expected him to be their leading rebounder and shot blocker.
When he got the fifth star some here started calling him a sleeper one and done and argued with me when I said he needed to work on a few things. Seems like he’s done that and is playing at a level where he can succeed.
So the savior wasn't given enough time to save.
Or is it that he found a place that he's not expected much of and thrives in that type of environment

It's clear that the rankings gurus missed the boat here. He never should have been ranked in the Top 100 let alone given a 5* star.So the savior wasn't given enough time to save.
