Get the 2-door Bronco. You can pretty much load it onto the HD and drive it to the trail
As long as it fits in my garage I’ll be thrilled. The best I could find is over all height with 33” tires will be around 79”. I can fit anything under 82”

$30K base on a 2 door. Not sure Ford announced a 4 door price but think I saw $34 or $35 in one of the headlines.

Should start cheaper, even if they need to strip some content, imo.
It's priced competitively with the Wrangler. The most expensive trim (~60k) is all reserved. I see this as a 2nd or non-primary car for upper middle class families.

Yeah, but the Wrangler is a timeless off-road icon. The Bronco is OJ Simpson's getaway vehicle.

It's got a compelling package but undercutting the Wrangler would shorten its climb back to glory day status. Wrangler will keep selling based on loyalty, rep and history alone. I mean, there are people rattling down the NJ Parkway in Rubicons every day.

Your demo might be right on sales wise, but not image wise. Ford would be best to ensure as many Broncos as possible get out alongside the jacked Wranglers in Moab ASAP. And subsequently absolutely pollute Instagram, YT and the like.

Pure hype and novelty will give the Bronco a nice bite of the Wrangler pie in year 1 but don't know it'll be sustainable for long. It's not like Jeep's sitting idly by.

Will be a second vehicle for me. My current 2nd vehicle has 7k miles on it and it’s 3 years old and my everyday driver is 4 years old with 15k. I don’t rack up a lot of miles

No arguments there. I had a blast off-road with 4runners ...they're especially fun when someone else owns them ; )

I just meant it looks nothing like the 4runner. Maybe the Bronco Sport ...haven't looked too closely at that one, not sure I will. But that's not the real story, anyway.

My best vehicle ever was a 4wd 2004 4Runner V6 Sport. Great traction on the soft deep sands of OBX and vg on wet/icy NJ roads. My son drives it now and gets many offers from strangers to buy it. Stainless steel exhaust system and parts is a key benefit.

I'm a strong proponent of the 80s era Ford Bronco II.

I honestly think virtually every manufacturer's modern SUV offerings aren't boxy enough, including this new Bronco. And once you add another set of doors to that Jeep Wrangler it becomes a family wagon, and not an SUV.

Just my opinion.

If there is money to be made in selling that kind of vehicle, GM will make a better one.

Sure, like the new Blazer :Laughing.

The e-Hummer will be legit interesting ...but useless for 115 percent of drivers.

You are super late to the party. Jeep already proved there is money to be made in the segment. Maybe the Hummer EV is GM’s answer.

I loved the 90’s 2 door Yukon’s. Wish they made a modern day one.

Owned a Jeep for 15 years. Now every dad in his 40s has one. And let’s be honest almost none of these guys take the Jeep anywhere except to their kids’ sporting events and a week or two down the shore. New Bronco will easily chew up a big portion of this market.

99% will never go off road but must have the best off roader options. Plus it has GOAT modes.

I think it very march looks like a Bronco, not the 80's version, the one's from the early 70's.

Edit: I see others have already expressed this sentiment.

Anyways I think it looks great. The 80's Bronco pics posted above look like turds.
The Ford Bronco II was the turd. What a pos vehicle.

The "extras/upgrades" market (axles, hubs, bumpers, engine kits, exhausts, etc) for Jeeps is massive. Bronco may take a while to catch on here. Needs numbers.

True. Ford does plan to have some 200 aftermarket add ons at launch, tho, so it's more prepared than others.

The copycat is all those after the full size Bronco.

Was wondering if those calling it a copycat realize the first 1966 Bronco, upon which the new one is heavily based, has roots back to the very first Jeeps (GPs). Ford built jeeps for WWII along with Willys (Jeep) based on the same design. Then Ford built the successor, also the predecessor to the HMMWV (I.e. Hummer).

When it decided to make a civilian 4x4 in the early 60s, it could have just copied those original mil jeeps, like a number of others did, but it shaped and styled the Bronco differently.

You can knock it for copying the International Scout, but it objectively is not a copy of Jeeps or Hummers.

Love the modularity of it.. the ability to switch out parts.. like doors and seats.. this might create a customization craze around this vehicle.

Oh it definitely will.

I like. Thinking of trading the Raptor for one in a couple of years.

always like the Raptor but thought it wasn't practical. The Bronco screams practicality . Especially without doors.

No insight whatsoever but does the continual reconstituting of Chrysler (Mercedes>Fiat>Renault) make the Jeep brand ripe for acquisition at some point by GM? Sure I see some Challengers (seems to be the police interceptor car) and of course there are Dodge/Ram trucks and a minivan but what else is left of Chrysler and it’s US subs?

Funny, I was just going to post the same. Saw the headline that they are rolling off the assembly line. The Ford dealer in my town has one for test drive. Will check it out soon.

Ford brings back the Maverick this Fall. Whole new group of people who were priced out of the pick-up truck market will be able to buy one again. Only $20,000 and it is a hybrid. The bed is not long enough for my kayak, but for many who use their truck to get stuff at Tractor Supply or local garden store it is big enough. Already taking pre-orders. I don’t think they will be able to make them fast enough.

Ford's on a roll. The F-150 Lightning is impressive, too.

The Maverick was a car.

Why not just reuse the Ranger name. Considering that’s exactly what this “new” vehicle looks like.
