The O/U was 139.5. Missed it by that much!

ASU 12-57 (3-26 from 3 pt range)
2-8 from the charity stripe

Leading scorer had 13, next was 6. Nobody else made more than one FG.

Not to defend Hurley, not a huge fan of the family as a whole, but Arizona St. has had a rough stretch of San Diego St., Baylor, Syracuse, Loyola Ill, Washington St, all without Marcus Bagley, one of their top scorers. He's not going anywhere because of circumstances.

Scoring 29 points with a power 5 team is difficult. Even we scored 40-50 in our absolute worst games

We had 31 with Eddie when we hit rock bottom, but Hurley has been much more hyped up by our fans and the media.

When I see a team score 29 points, I immediately think of the game RU lost at St. Bonaventure, 30-29, in 1982 when I was a senior in high school. I remember it being on ESPN.

I remember that game. We had a good team that year and I couldn't believe we lost that way, but I remember that was always a tough place to play. I read the entire story that you linked - it was a great read if you enjoy both recent and past college basketball history.

As a college hoops junkie, I enjoyed reading the linked article, too. Young fans today don't realize what a hornet's nest Reilly Center was to play in.

That game was pre shot clock and St Bonnies held the ball most of the game. That game being on ESPN might have been one of the catalysts for bringing the shot clock to college hoops, which was instituted on an experimental basis in certain conferences (including the Atlantic 10) the following year

Instead of RU/St. Bonnie it was probably more like all the ACC games they had on and watching Dean Smith running the four corners constantly.

The old line: Who was the only person who could consistently hold Michael Jordan under 20 a game? Dean Smith

(Actually one year he did average exactly 20 at UNC)
