I can, its all about the high. Most of the cheap crap will give you a blinding head in a vice headache. Potters aint bad, as well as Burnett's. I enjoy Titos, it has a clean high with a little trip in it.

A real old fashion without cherries is really hard to beat.

In the summer I really like the Anna Wilson at Wilson and Washburn... I don't give a **** it is name after a girl. I love Hendricks Gin straight on the rocks with sliced cucumbers. Since you said I had to mix it, Anna Wilson is a good one.

I can tell the difference between Ketel One and Grey Goose, so I can easily tell the difference between Ketel One and Gordon's. Actually to the point where I like decent vodkas like Ketel One in a vodka tonic, and something like Gordon's in a Bloody Mary. Cheaper vodkas are better in Bloody Mary's, IMO.

I posted earlier that I had some vanilla flavored Chivas. Oops. It was the Vanilla Crown that the local pub had. Man is that smooth and tasty. Not sweet just really smooth and way too easy to drink over ice. Probably why I didn't remember it was Crown and not Chivas. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't listed on Chivas's website.........

Don Julio 1942 straight up. I have a neighbor who spends more time at his place in Ajijic, Mexico than he does across the street from us (he's 79 and he has a thirtysomething girlfriend in Ajijic. I think that says it all). He brings me good tequilas and mezcal. With WA taxes Don Julio 1942 would cost me close to $200 here in town. He gets it for about $60.

Time to go skiing. It has been great. We in the Northwest have been hit hard by snow. We have 9 inches on the ground here at home and the hill has received easily 30-35 inches the last couple of weeks. 3 inches new overnight. Hell, Seattle even got snow.

Cheap vodka actually tastes better in Bloody Mary's to me. Refined vodka just tastes too medicinal for some reason. I always liked Gordon's for Bloody Mary's.

Manhattan, straight up. I use Makers or Makers 46. Although the 46 doesn’t always last long enough to be made into a manhattan, since I also like it neat.
