I read a little bit about this case. There were reports that the gentleman inside was threatening violence toward others and suicide. This was not their first contact with the gentleman. This was pretty far along in the process to get him out of the house.
He’s threatening suicide! Let’s break into his house and shoot him 🤣🤣

....and if police had done nothing, and he shoots up a place where people are inside or harms somebody in any way...everyone here complaining about how tis was overreach would be the first to ask why they didn't look into him sooner. I swear, police cannot win with some people. Well I suppose they could, they just have to be 1000% perfect, 1000% of the time

no one innocent was harmed. The police are trained for this and he was sitting inside waiting on them with gun in hand. Had he just responded to the original wellness check and handled himself appropriately, there is no swat team busting down his door.
Seems to me several efforts should have been made to at least try to contact the guy. Maybe call his cell, maybe use a bullhorn to let him know they're coming in to check on him.

Did they at least check and see if the dude had guns registered in his name?

Anytime someone is threateing to hurt others, or himself, there's always the potential for the thing to spiral quickly.
