OT: Experienced weird symptoms?

The stomach bug thread got me curious if anyone has had any weird symptoms during the past year. I’ve had many family members and friends say they have experienced something odd. I take it with a grain of salt, but there has to be something to it.

Back in September, I got what essentially a cold, but it zapped all my energy for a week. I’ve never experienced that with a head cold. By coincidence, I had a regular doctor checkup in the middle of it, and he didn’t think anything of it.

Since then, my wife and I have both had Multiple episodes of 2-3 days of mild headaches, and that “I think I’m getting sick” feeling that goes away.

Me too on this..I have had this happen several times since May. I chalk it up to the fact that I have been on zinc, Vitamin C and D since March and immune system is fighting whatever I am getting away

I'm drinking about 1 liter of Larceny a week now... No questions where my headaches and lack of energy come from.

How long have you been in your house? It could be outgassing of some of the building materials used. In our first house, they used some sort of odd drywall (I think made in China, and I believe later banned) that had some ill effects on residents. We lived in the house for about 14 years, then had our present house built. In the original house, we'd have pretty bad sinus infections 2 or 3 times a year; been in the "new" house almost 30 years and have had zero sinus infections, and only a couple of mild colds.

At work, we had a new office building constructed in about 2000. Several people had bad reactions to the glue they used to install the carpet. Most had no problems at all, but buildings can make a person ill.

My stomach issue finally subsided today. Took one good puke to seemingly get it all out when I woke up at 4am for work. Feel 90% better altogether aside from the lousy tiredness.

But to add, my entire family has had on and off odd illnesses associated with random week long cold like headaches for what seems like the past 4-5 months or so.

My PSA just hit 6.7. I am having biopsy next Wednesday. My brother had prostrate cancer. High chance I have it. My wife has a Kidney Stone the size of a thumb. No other treatment than cutting it out. I am in for a hard two months. I hope my kids don't bring Covid home from school.

That's the best way if available. Propothol is wonderful stuff. They use it when I get shots in my back, and I never know what they're doing.

Sounds exactly like I was feeling a few weeks ago- went and got tested for Covid as a precaution and bang- positive.


Nurse told me it is mutating and folks are getting it without the initial symptoms.

I thought I was fighting a mild cold or sinuses at worse. - glad I got tested.

Had this occur twice since September. The first time after both my folks came down with the covid. Both times I tested negative. Was the dangdest thing. Hardly been sick at all as an adult (41 now) and never in bed for even a day really. So yeah, definitely hear ya on the weird symptoms.

Didn't put me to sleep, but did give me a deadening injection that completely numbed me. The first one they did without any deadening. That hurt.

I am using Miss Urology at the Baptist hospital in Jackson. My doctor said they have the facilities to put you to sleep so they do. He said they do not for Veterans when the VA referrers them. VA will not pay. I told him the clinic should be willing to provide it for them. He said he doesn't make that call. I told him I was a veteran but don't use the VA.

I've had two episodes where I thought I may be sick. One was during the initial outbreak, while kids were off for spring break (I'd flown to Phoenix the 1st week in March). The other was during second outbreak - first week of August. I'd been around a few people at work who'd gotten sick with covid that week, but I'd always had my mask on.

Both times I felt tired and kinda achy for 2-3 days, with a very mild temp in the late afternoon / evenings (99-100, never got to 101). No other symptoms at all. I did not get covid tested either time but I have given blood twice (June and September). Both times I came back negative for antibodies.

I sort of think it was just me paying extra close attention to how I was feeling. These things probably happen every year and I just don't notice it because I'm not worried about getting sick.

I had some serious shoulder pain that believe it or not they think is related to Covid-19. I was left with some inflammation in the joints causing some sort of Myalgia. My doctor was trying to treat it with a drug for indigestion but it's not helping. I can sleep at night so it's all good.

I think we all have something as we age and that Covid crap hits us older folks harder. Growing is old is not for the faint of heart.

Wife and I have had similar. She's been tested twice and been negative. Thinking about getting the antibody test just to see if I've had it. Also, asthma and allergies make it likely that if I had a mild-moderate case, I could easily mistake it for my "normal" life... :(
