Noticed quite a few people lived in North Brunswick. We have been looking in the Hidden Lake area...any feedback?

That is a fabulous area. It's been quite a few years (20), but we did two stints in Governor's Point, and we wanted to buy a townhouse or a house in Hidden Lake, but we could not afford one at the time. The proximity to the train (Jersey Ave), New Brunswick and Route 1 worked for us both really well for our commutes. There are a lot of things I miss about North Brunswick, but the thing I miss the most is the volunteer fire department. I volunteered for the station on Cozzens Lane in the early-mid 90's and those were some great years and a great bunch of guys. Amazingly busy and well run volunteer fire department.

Thanks, we keep getting drawn back to that area (Timber Glen as well, right across the street from the FD). It's a beautiful and well kept area. Plus the train is close which is a plus for my commute.

Only concern is I'm getting a lot of feedback that the town has been going downhill the last 10 years as well as the schools. It could be true or it could be a cultural thing, as a lot of the older folks have moved out. Schools seems to be stabilized around the 120-140 range in NJ. Not great, not bad, good enough to provide kids with a good education. I don't mind that, what I want to avoid is a situation where the town really is in a downward spiral.

I think @Tango Two is still in North Brunswick. I have a relative who lives there, and I will reach out to see what the deal is on schools.

I sell real estate in the area. Office is on 27 in South Brunswick. North Brunswick schools are decent, not great. South Brunswick, East Brunswick, & Monroe all have better schools, IMHO. Also, some elementary schools in town are better than others.
Still Hidden Lake is a nice neighborhood.
Was out showing homes in No. Brunswick today

As for me, I was born & raised in Sayreville. Live there now.
