OT - Each State in Photos

This is the slightly cooler Virginia. How do we know this? Easy, John Denver wrote a song about it. That said, we know it’s like heaven and life is older than the trees. It has blue ridge mountains and the Shenandoah river. That said, they are mountain folk who love banjos. Mountain folks. Anyone who has ever seen the movie Deliverance knows how badly this mixture can turn out. If you go to West Virginia make sure you know something about nature. Don’t appear as an outsider. Have a cook out immediately upon coming. They love cookouts and the smell of cooked meat on your clothes will hide your outsider scent.

Anyway...both the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mountains barely influence WV...and certainly are nothing close to the heart of the state.
John Denver helped two others finish the song even though he never visited our state. Those two others were simply going to Maryland (which would explain both the river and mountain range of choice) and were simply passing through for the first time.
The Deliverance ref never gets old... ..but the plot was based in/on Georgia and filmed mostly in that state.
Those are the exact reasons I have a small amount of hatred for the song. Even when I was young and only learning about our fair little state, I realized that something was a bit off.
Now, it has become so ingrained with the school, and the northern half of the state, just hearing 3 or 4 notes instantly puts me in a football and Morgantown state of mind.
I love the song.
I'm just petty, angry, and alcoholic. Trying to bring others down with me....my world gets lonely.
