RIP. Author of the book used for Intro to Chemistry for Engineers. Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago in the Provident Club as a game. Such a very nice man. I asked him if he had planned to retire, and his answer was funny and along the lines of why would I retire when I love my work?

We used his own text book and workbook in freshman chem.

Didn't know him, but he was well liked among the chemists I knew from RU who ended up at Merck and yes, I still have his Intro to Chemistry book, lol.
