In the order, the court recognizes Larsa as Scottie's ex-wife -- whom he married in 1997. The official date of separation is November 3, 2016. So...she was legally awarded "Fifty Percent" of all account balances as of the plan's valuation amount closest to the date of their separation. In other words, she gets half of the amount that was accrued in the account from 1997 to 2016.
Now, it should be noted, this is normal in a California court for couples to split their respective retirements -- unless there is a prenuptial agreement. The famous couple reportedly DID have a prenup.

The greatest part of this order, for Larsa, is that the money is to be paid in a "cash lump sum" and is to be distributed to her own account "as soon as administratively possible following the approval of this order." And...and the judge signed it on June 16, 2023.
Not that she needs it, but if you have been living under a rock for a while you should know that Larsa is currently dating Michael Jordan's son, Marcus Jordan. The richest sports figure of all time.

How do you have a prenup and still lose half your ****?

And why is Jordan's son dating a chick that's like 20 years older than him? Your Dad is Michael Jordan, you don't need a Sugar Mama.

Divorce/Child Custody laws are archaic at best.

The thought process behind the settlements make no sense at all.

I have always heard that prenups and liability waiver forms won't necessarily stand up in court.

True. But she's pretty easy on the eyes and while you're young, why not date one of the Housewives of Miami?

It would be nice to have all these ******** laws abolished. You’d miraculously see a big decrease is the amount of loose whores out there if guys weren’t made to pay for bastard kids or ex wives.

That said, can you imagine how rich guys would act knowing they weren’t financially responsible for bastard kids or ex wives? That might actually be worse than what’s in place now.

So true on both accounts!

But there needs to be common sense applied.

I like when they argue "I gave up a chance at a career to raise YOUR kids". Yeah, you were a pre-school teacher for two years...you made 14 dollars an hour and spent most of that money buying **** for your classroom. You clearly do not deserve 10,000 dollars a month and child support of 6,000 dollars a month until the kids turn 18 or you remarry...which you clearly will never do now.

I worked with a lady...she got half the house sale...then got 6k a month (that was not including that he had to pay for all the kids **** as well) and he had to pay for private K-12 school and their college. Unless she got remarried...which she did...wanna guess when??? Yep...when the last kid finished college.

Buddy of mine who lives in CO got divorced. She got custody of the kid. Left the state. Gets alimony and child support. Also got 150k. They didn't even own a house together. Fvcking insane. They both have good careers making over 100k a year. He's not happy.

Hahaha!

Insane!

And, now this sort of falls on the guys, but shoots plan out divorce well in advance, so they tend to have **** lined up and ready to go fast. Which is clearly a smart move by them. Oh and they do the "Lets be civil about this and not greedy" and then BAM.

Have to brag about my better half here....she walked away from a lot to marry me. So much so that when she told me the deets of her situation before we got engaged I got depressed cause I thought..."Nobody walks away from that, and she's entitled to it for 5 more years"....yet she never gave it a second thought.

Because he's rich/famous enough to bang about any woman he wants, why would he choose a 50-year-old with 4 kids? There are a million women out there who are easy on the eyes and are young and childless. And who would want to deal with the drama of dating Kim Kardashian's BFF? Sounds miserable to me.

Maybe she sought him out to further cause pain. Women are ruthless and she seems like the cream of that crop.

Her ex must have had a ****** lawyer. My ex-fiancƩ got child support and I had to provide insurance, I carried medical, dental, and vision insurance. She asked that I be made responsible for any medical cost beyond the insurance coverage, judge told her I paid the premiums on the insurance, she had to cover deductible and co-pay expenses. When her lawyer asked that I cover tuition for Catholic school, the judge told her that there was free public school , if she wanted to send our daughter to private school she would have to pay for it.

Edit: I should add that since I never married her and Nebraska doesn’t recognize Common Law Marriage, she wasn’t able to take any of my personal property.

Maybe! I should have added her ex is a plastic surgeon...so that might have/had something to do with it.

Also had a buddy that waited until the last kid turned 18...then BOOM. He left.

My favorite uncle (now former) did that, at the time was kinda bummed but as time has passed, I now applaud him for having been married to my aunt for the 25 years he was.

Just imagine when he started counting years left on his manslaughter prison sentence...did he start counting down when the youngest kid was 6? 9?

Think how unhappy he was and I am guessing what a great actor he was for all those years, putting on a show that he was happy.

I bet he drops you a text from time to time and I bet he is happy as can be.

I'm stuck paying child support, half my business value, almost all the kids activities/clothes/etc and a few small bills. She got plenty from the divorce and spent 5 months unemployed traveling around the world on what I paid her. Now she's broke and asking if I can help. I'm not falling for that lol.
