If you read my post , I was agreeing with you on Watson, Hopefully the League appeals, As far as Ridley , Pete Rose got banned from the game for doing the Same , maybe he should feel lucky!

the way leagues deal with gambling today (ads everywhere, tons of cash coming in, announcers literally talking about spreads and totals during the broadcast) versus in Rose's time (by far the most taboo thing you could do, nobody was allowed to even talk about it) is night and day

NFL don't care as long as it's not football related or possibly gun/violence against a woman.

Cleveland saw an opportunity to get a good quarterback and knew they could ride out the bad publicity. They were right. But the contract they gave for damaged goods is comical. They will win 8 or 9 games for the next 10 years.
