I am not and can never be a Met fan, but that said, lots of respect for Davey Johnson. May he rest in eternal peace.

Death was kind of lost in the shuffle of game day. Besides being the winningest manager in Mets history there are two things I remember about him as a player.
1. He made the last out of the 1969 WS with a flyball to Cleon Jones.
2. Also part of a team that had three players hit 40 home runs in a season, the 1973 Atlanta Braves. Johnson, Hank Aaron and Darrell Evans.

RIP Davey ,a real good player and even better manager.
Also the only MLB manager who resigned his position the same day he was named his league (AL) manager of the year (1997 as the Orioles' manager )
