Welp. I tested positive today. I’m starting to feel a little better. Saturday, i felt like i might die. The doctor prescribed me a zpack, zinc, vitamins, pepcid, and Flonase. My wife hasn’t been feeling great but nowhere near as bad as me. Honestly, there’s no way she hasn’t been exposed to it. My kids, either. So, we’ve decided to just all quarantine together. Any advice would be welcomed. Also, please don’t turn this into some political bs, please. I still don’t feel good enough for that.

Well, did you get the jab previously?

Drink, drink, drink water. And be sure to get up and walk around or at least sit up. Laying in the bed makes it worse.

It’s a weird virus. My family all got it around Christmas last year. Kids had no symptoms at all (7 and 1 at the time). I lost taste and smell but no other symptoms. My wife had a pretty difficult time with it. Never to the point of needing the hospital but very lethargic, body aches, cough and fever. She dealt with the fatigue for several weeks afterwards. Like being winded after carrying our 1 year old up the stairs (and we were both pretty active and in shape). But she slowly just started to feel better. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is any magic bullet. With that said, I have had friends who have had good success with the anti biotic infusion that is being done. I think you gotta get your doctor to refer you or give you a prescription but maybe ask your doctor about it. I’ve heard it has helped people feel better quicker.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I feel like that would have made the original post if it was applicable. I’ll happily be wrong though.

Hope you get to feeling better, Moto.

Vitamin D as well. One thing my doc mentioned as a preventive, along with zinc, is something called Quercetin. It's OTC.

Maybe you could get some of the stuff Trump swore by when he had Covid, but I can't remember the name. It may only be available for VIPs though ....

Glad you posted that. When I had it (last fall), I couldn’t smell anything except what I can only describe as a cigarette smoke type aroma. Weird. Thought it was just me.

My dad still smells what he describes as burning potpourri. He had it around Christmas.

I would say it took damn near 6 months for my smell to come back to normal. I never had weird or odd smells, I just had nothing then it slowly started coming back. Not all bad given I had a kid in diapers, made changing a diaper easier.

I smell sulfur A LOT (insert jokes here)... Had it in December. Lost smell and taste for about 3 months. Now, I still smell some things that no one else does... I didn't fully realize I was smelling sulfur until smelling it at Yellowstone...

Never think you're getting better unless you're a couple weeks plus out. It comes back on you.
Don't let your guard down. If your lower back/hips start hurting, head to the doctor, It's pneumonia. Also, take aspirin. Blood clots can be an issue.

This. Go ahead and fight for the best medicine you can get your hands on. I would keep pestering for them if you are unvaccinated. If the last doc is stone walking, call another.

Obesity is now a condition to get access to these. And apparently a BMI of 25, which is 6'0 and 181 if you round the decimal, is now obese.

Read this from the AMA. Doctors are not prescribing this nearly enough. Many say it's overwhelming to smaller offices to administer since it requires IV. 70% reduction in hospitalizations.

Effective up to 10 days from symptom onset, but earlier is better.

If you're only feeling a "little" better like you say hang in there. For me the first two days were kinda bad but not awful. Typical body aches, but once the fever broke (mine was only as high as 99.7) after two days I got noticeably better each day, but I had a different symptoms each day although they were mild. I lost my taste and smell on day 5 of symptoms, but I was only feeling actually sick for 2 or 3 days. I was doing yard work by the 4th day. My smell returned about a week later. If you lose your smell, start smelling garlic and apple cider vinegar daily. You have to re-train your olfactory nerve. I got my smell back quickly by doing that. My fiance is still 6 months and not much smell or taste back.

Just take it easy. I didn't go to the doctor. I just had theraflu every so often. Resting and eating really well is likely the best thing you can do. If you require more care than that then seek a doctor.

^^^This right here and I forgot to mention. It came back on my dad several days later and her was feeling kinda bad for a few more days. For me literally 7 days after zero symptoms other than my smell being gone, I woke up and had a fever. I rested that day and the following day I was fine.

He never lost his sense of taste or smell and he only felt bad for about 2 days (he’s in excellent shape and health for someone in his 60s)

No real advice to offer other than monitor your symptoms closely and keep your Dr. in the loop if you see any downturns at all. Good luck to you and remember, the vast majority of people recover with no major issues.

My wife and daughter in the healthcare system. I’ll say this as it shouldn’t be political. It should be about personal responsibility. If you aren’t vaccinated shut up and wait your turn. Be it a clinic, dr office or er. You made your choice. Selfishness is a true test of arrogance. No one ones you the front of the line. By the way I’m a Republican and I got no patience for “ Help” when you had help in front of you. Your choice

Sorry for a few words out of sequence. Spellcheck but I’m so done with this arrogance of the anti vaccine. They lead the list in begging for help when sick

When I had it a few weeks ago my doc prescribed a single 50,000IU Vitamin D pill, a Z-pack, Zinc Sulfate, Dexamethasone, and Hydroxychloroquine (the "stuff Trump swore by"). My fever was gone in under 24 hours and all other symptoms in under 48.

When it affects someone who has done everything right. Yes. I hate it but the unvaccinated who beg for help when they are wrong shouldn’t step in front of people who have stepped up. Hate it but what gives the right to others when they made their choice. So should vaccinated step behind the unvaccinated?
