I was hopeful that great things would come from the “spit” test for COVID-19 that Rutgers scientists developed. Any news on that front?

It should be much more widely available, especially in NJ, but it's not. It's pretty pathetic how inadequate our testing is.

It doesn't exactly inspire confidence that when and if the day there's a vaccine the US will be able to handle distribution to its people.

It doesn't exactly inspire confidence that when and if the day there's a vaccine the US will be able to handle distribution to its people.

A vaccine that may work and found to be safe is at the very least a few years away.

I'm hoping that Fauci and RU848789 are right on this one and we have something ready by the end of the year.
However, if we can't currently get a good supply of masks or swabs, I'm not confident we can get and distribute a good supply of the vaccine to 330 million Americans in a reasonable amount of time.

I have heard more then a few people say they will pass on the vaccine for a while until we see if there are any side effects to what comes out. Myself included. My wife felt the same way as of a few days ago. My 13 year old son I am giving a pass on it also.

It amazes me that most of the media and many of the posters in the pinned thread here pretty much ignore that our so-called top career government scientists and health experts failed so miserably, first with the testing kit development debacle at the CDC lab , but also didn't appear to have formed any consensus on the real threat of the chicomvirus for so many months early on. Well maybe I'm not so amazed, but... I don't want KryBabee3 crying to the mods again so I'll leave it at that.

We test more than any other country in the world (hence having more cases you're melting down about) and every store I go into I can now buy masks. Take a lap.

the saliva test only shows if you currently HAVE CoVid-19.. not if you HAVE had it. Not an antibodies test.

I have no idea what its false positive or false negative rate is.

I don’t know one person who hasn’t been able to get a test within 24 hours of wanting one. Symptoms or not. It is Bs however, that it takes 3-4 days for results but that’s probably because we are testing tons of people that don’t need it.

Instead of writing a report.. why didn't the previous administration FOLLOW the plan they made? Why didn't they stockpile supplies? Why didn't they bring manufacturing of key supplies back to America?
