Mildone - how serious were you as a coach/manager? You seem to have lot of insightful adds here

A big, big, big THANK YOU to the person who got into Carli's ear about her wardrobe. She actually looks really good tonight!

Nobody thinks this Argentina side is the best of all time. This announcer is clown-ish.

Terrible clearance by the Canadian defender on that 2nd goal. Still love watching Messi, though.

whats the deal with the argentine player who passed teh end line drawing a defender? That seems a bit of a trick.. get a defender towards the end line and then two argentine players, including Messi who scored.. were offsides compared to their own defenders.. but onsides because of this defender away from from the play who was marking the argentine over the end line. Is that a common tactic or just chance?

Is Canada getting a bit screwed on calls late? Chilean officials team. How neighborly of them.

Actually, that is a controversial statement. How often do you hear announcers intone that a 2-0 lead is the most dangerous in the sport?

I went to the game last night with my kid. I have serious worries about the World Cup and the absolute disaster that is the final 2 miles to the parking lots. It was chaos and there were dozens of parking lot attendants who were just randomly walking around for no reason instead of helping the gridlock. Furthermore, the number of state troopers giving escorts to some cars was pathetic. Does this happen every weekend at Jets/ Giants games?

Thinking Colombia 2-1
It's going to be a barroom brawl, but Colombia has probably been the best team so far, so I'll go with them to win...

What would be really cool is if the Euro and Copa champs played a week later for the quasi-World Cup, given that nobody outside of Europe or South America has ever won a WC.

My buddy just texted me, supposedly there's going to be an announcement at 3:30 saying that GB is out

It’s a tough call for sure, as I think either of the two teams can beat the other on any given day but its Colombia for me due to form (27 games unbeaten and on a mission).

I agree. The fact that the Finalissima date has not been announced is kind of a bummer. Having the two winners play a year later is very anti climactic.
