-20 forecast here next week. Wind chills unknown.

What is the coldest you have experienced?

For me: -32 straight temp, -60 windchill.. was outside thawing pipes out at work. Ugh...

I totally believe it. That area is known for freak storms during the winter. The highest wind gust recorded on Earth was recorded at the NWS station on top of Mt. Washington. Something like 230 MPH. People in the NWS generally do not like being assigned to that station, with good reason!
Yeah, the weather on Mount Washington can be unbelievably horrible and dangerous. The bad thing is how unpredictable it can be. I learned my lesson. Won’t ever hike that Mountain again.

This thread is about the coldest you have experienced in the past...considering that everybody is talking about how it was colder in the past I think it reinforces the reality of climate change. The definition of an ignorant society is when scientific evidence becomes political, ie...the nazis using darwinism to support genocide. Stupid people will skew or falsify data that has been accrued by trusted scientific methods to meet their ignorant needs. Americans ignoring this authentic scientific data to continue to have a "strong" economy and live a life of "liberty" when it is clear your grandkids grandkids will not have such a luxury fits the bill of ignorant.

So are these "trusted scientific methods" actually trustworthy? Lol.

The "Chiberia" polar vortex we had a few years back was the coldest I can remember in a while. Ambient temps in the -20 range and wind chill besides.

My Accord always started like a champ but the brake fluid and power steering fluid weren't exactly flowing free at first in those temps, had to put some muscle into turning out of the parking space and make sure you stepped on the brake like you meant it. I kept a blanket in the car because the heat was starting to crap out a bit at low rpms.

I was working at a dog daycare that winter, and we ran the dogs outside between the upstairs kennels and the indoor play area. I wore a lot of layers. The little dogs would get sore feet pretty much immediately and you had to pick them up and put them inside because they didn't want to walk, they just stop where they are and pick up one foot at a time. The huskies though, they couldn't care less.

The key is pretty much always to dress in a lot of layers and keep moving.

-15 here in Lincoln. I got a picture from a bank time and temp sign. I believe wind chill was -75 that night

Climate has been changing for millions of years, you heard of ice ages right? It gets political when you quell dissent and debate which we are now, now it is a religion. When that happens I get very skeptical. The facts are it has been much warmer in the past, much higher levels of CO2. Climate is cyclical, to assume a linear trend is beyond foolish in my mind.

I remember going to school in the 70's we were being warned of another ice age, the scientist had it right it was only a matter of time. Go figure

Brah, you are challenging the scientific method, never a good idea. How do you know it was warmer in the past with higher CO2 levels? So you are using results of the scientific method to then refute the scientific method? Talk about beyond foolish! Why do you trust climate scientists about past data but not about current findings? Ironic you bring up religion, the antithesis of the scientific method. You have a lot of faith in the "facts" media outlets are telling you with no consensus scientific backing. Are microwave ovens little magic boxes to you?
