OT: Climate Care HVAC Madison

I know a lot of you have recommended Climate Care (Irvin Horn) for HVAC replacement and repair. Is this still the case with you guys who recently used him? He uses York and Luxair, but none of the the others that have given us quotes use those brands. We currently have 2 newer Trane units and need a replacement for a third (2 ton). Anybody have any feedback on the Yorks or Luxairs? The prices for the Trane have gone up considerably.

Environment Masters. Got two original home units replaced by them with Lennox. Very happy with the work they did.

He replaced a 5 ton Goodman for me ..no problems and I have had it for a year
He also replaced
the fan motor on on my 2 ton in the last 2 months ..no problems

I've had good success with Air Handlers in the past. They even didn't replace my old unit for a few years after I thought it was dead. When it finally died for real, they put in an American Standard unit (basically a Trane but less expensive) and it's been great for the last 10 years.

Why do you think the 2 ton needs replacement? Is it a R22 or 410A system? If 410A consider just replacing the condenser and save alot of dough. Don't pay too much attention to the brand, more so vet the installer and if they did it correctly. Make sure to ask if they evacuate to < 500 microns and use nitrogen while brazing. If they don't problems will show up a few years down the road. FYI cost on a decent brand (RUUD) 2 ton condenser runs about $900.

This is accurate. American Standard is essentially a Trane without that name plate.
