Any updates on “Best OC in Rutgers history” John “Instant Impact” McNulty?

Won 7 straight Super Bowls scoring 79 points each game?
Curing world hunger and homelessness?
Curing cancer?

I’m guessing there is nothing he couldn’t be successful at.

;)

No, but we could throw in Jerry Kill, and his work at New Mexico, and tutoring everyone's favorite QB, Diego Pavia!

The point isn't the rotten apples that fell from the tree (and BTW, you of course know, McNulty has been in Schiano's tree at least twice), it's the coaches that grew into coaches that advanced in their careers!

Herbert sucks. He's 0-3 in January with a 27-0 blown lead vs the Jags, a 4 INT performance in a loss to the Texans, and now a 3 point performance vs the Pats. He's Sam Bradford with a surfer hairstyle.

Heard a funny comment.
Herbert and Lawrence need to go anti-Samson and show up with shaved heads next season.

Why do we need an update? He’s on our staff.

Please don’t remind me about the “Fence the garden” slogan. Only thing worse and more out of touch was “The Hunt”.

Ash tree
Lemon tree, very pretty, and the lemon flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat

The Ash coaching tree blew down years ago. Terminal butt rot.
IDK about that.
Mehringer is now officially OC at Oregon.
Zak ("Fence the Garden") Kuhr is doing well in the NFL.
Nunzio Campanile moving up the coaching ranks and OC at UConn.

For a short tenure HC, not bad. The problems with Mehringer was he was too young and inexperienced to be an OC in 2016.

The young saplings that survived in the Ashes when he burned down the program are thriving.

Tom Herman his boss at Houston might claim Mehringer for his tree because he had Drew on his staff the year before Mehringer went to RU and rehired him at Texas when Drew lost his RU job
Everette Winthers hired Drew as his OC in 2014 at James Madison , so he might get first tree dibs.
Drew spent one year with Ash, so I wouldn't put him as a branch of Ash

Lame from the start but short-lived. Keep Choppin’ was fire for a year or two but jumped the shark even before 1.0 departed and is utterly embarrassing now. Cringe.

It's no surprise that Chris Ash has a fairly good coaching tree. He taught all the Rutgers coaches what not to do!!

And another one---Aaron Henry. Illinois' coaching staff getting picked apart by Ohio State and Notre Dame:

Wonder if Bielema can get Ryan Walters back from UW. He was the DC at Illinois before leaving to be Purdue HC.
His path back to being a HC might be better staying with the Huskies
He also is making $2 mil a tear after signing an extension through the 2027 season.
Greg promoting someone already on staff is starting to seem more likely .
I have a sneaky suspicion that Greg might be waiting for the NFL Coaching Carousel to be finished , staffs set and then find someone still unemployed >naming him as DC while making the position really a do it yourself project.
The same would go if he promoted someone already on his staff.

$2 MIL a tear? Bielema tears or Purdue fan tears who miss him? ;) I don't normally pick on typos, but maybe"tear" is the right word?

I think you are correct though. Don't see him going back to Illinois, unless that is closer to home base for him or he does not like the Seattle area. If it was my choice, I would stay in Seattle over sleeping Champaign.

tears of joy after seeing his salary go up $500.000 to 2mil a "y"ear ( year, not ear 😁)
Some might like "sleeping Champaign" but most like to sip it.
But who can tell l what those crazy Fighting Bielemas do with their Champaign

I'll be shedding tears of joy once the RU DC question is resolved .
But the question is: will the cork be aimed at Schiano's butt after finding out who he hired,
or will it be popped in a joyful manner 🤔

As long as RU does not get "Robbed", it will be joyful.
