I support vaccinations, but this is a little strident for me. I do recall the government having got health things wrong in the past to the great detriment of public health. There has to be a little room in a democratic free society for parents to make decisions having to with health and welfare of their children.

Varicella is a highly infectious disease that is preventable by vaccine. Before vaccine licensure in 1995, ∼4 million cases per year resulted in ⩽9300 hospitalizations [1] and 100 deaths each year [2].

100 deaths out of 4,00,000 cases is not a big number unless your child is one of the hundred

The children are not allowed to make that decision, also they are putting all of the children that their children come in contact with in danger. It is criminally irresponsible.

I believe in personal freedom, as long it it doesn't effect anyone else. If adult want to refuse medicine and die as a result , then screw them let them die. But if they refuse to take their children to get medicine then that is child abuse. Those kids should be protected, they don't deserve to have children if they are a danger to them.
