Just found out Olympia was discontinued earlier this year. LAME. Thought my store just stopped carrying it.

Been mostly drinking micros, with Coors as a cheap hot day beer.

My first beer in the early 90s was^ We hung with the Belleville boys and they all drank 40s. A few sips and I was tipsy.
Mad Dog... I get queasy when I think back to how sick I got from it.
Someone mentioned Boones.. we drank that too in the late 90s.
Goldschlager(I know it isn't beer) holds a special place in my heart. We would buy it and then drink on the Nutley Tressel. Not sure how I survived those walks home.
Fun times!

Steel reserve and hurricanes were our choices for malt liquor. Most bang for the buck.

I have to disagree. The regular Genny Cream Ale was the beer we usually purchased as freshman in HS, $2 a six pack. I still purchase it today and some of my daughters friends love it. While I love craft beer there is something about a cold Genny that just brings me back. Sometimes its nice to have something a little lighter when your just thirsty which is why I always have some in the garage fridge
Genny was the keg choice of beer while in HS late 70’s.
Molson was the most trafficked out of Canada and a 50/50 chance of it being skunked
PBR was the bowling alley beer on tap

My first beer was my Dad’s beer of choice…Piels.

Plain old Genny (in the white can) is very solid. Pairs good with a Garbage Plate during my visits to Rochester for my kids' hockey tournaments.

First favorite cheap beer-Stroh's. They were huge in the 80s and one of the early adopters of the 30-pack.

Favorite cheap beer now is High Life-it's my summer beer.

Not beer or vodka, but I've always been a fan of "Jersey Lightning":
Lairds distillery is still in Colts Neck (the label says something about the oldest distillery of some sort in the US). During the holidays I have a pot of apple cider with cinnamon, cloves, apple and orange slices on the stove. Add a shot of Laird’s apple jack. You’ll thank me.

If I'm a little light in the wallet and/or Bud isn't available I have no problem with Miller High Life. Come to think of it, it's my Bud back up regardless of price. I also like Miller Genuine Draft but that's priced around Bud so not sure I'd consider that "cheap"

Miller high life was my dad's beer and is a good backup to yuengling for an easy drinking pilsner.

My first beer was a sip of my Polish grandmother's Krueger Beer, brewed in Newark, NJ, circa 1970's. She used to drink a case a week by herself, along with 2 cartons of Tareytons.

So, a light smoker back in those days. Both my parents were two carton a day smokers.

Back when we could drink at 18 someone had a keg in the dorm pretty much every extended Weekend (Thurs - sun). Cheapest kegs were at the Highland Park Pharmacy (not sure if that was the official name). But Rolling Rock and Genesee Cream Ale (IIRC) were the cheapest. No complaints here about either! Old “33” and Genny were fine for us at 18 yrs old!

Camping one time up in Sussex county, we found a backwoods store selling Gibbons beer for $1.50 a six pack. It was drinkable, but if there was some left in a bottle the next day I think it turned green 😅

I believe everyone does. I don't think Lowenbrau belongs here. It's one of the Munich Big 6, not a dirt-cheap piss beer.
I was confused about Lowenbrau… back in ‘83 it seemed to be a cheap beer masquerading as a German import. But I spent that summer backpacking in Europe and actually toured the real Lowenbrau brewery in Munich… it was pretty good beer, definitely not the crap that was being sold in the U.S.

That is a staple in my household and at my tailgate. J.W. Dundees Honey Brown. For a completely different reason than drinking.
This used to be one of my go-tos. Apparently they stopped making it for a while and just started again last year?

Did they? None of the stores in my area are carrying it anymore, they say they can't get it.

Lowenbrau was our favorite beer back in the early 80’s when I was stationed in Germany. We used to drink it warm as we had no refrigerators in the barracks. The Germans used to have “beer men” deliver cases of beer to your house just like milk men used to do here back in the day.

I always wondered why America could not have all these small breweries in every town like the Germans did. We finally caught on a few decades later with the micro breweries.

When I was young and didn’t have much money, a six pack of Schlitz was $1.87

I worked on a project in Chicago for a few years from 2012-2015 - Schlitz had been reintroduced to the market as being brewed with its original recipe. Miller's Pub in Chicago had it in 16 oz cans-it was good!

Really enjoy reading all the high falutin opinions of the beers I simply prefer.

Spent Saturday night in a wonderful old man bar that had PBR on tap. (I was stoked!)

The day I find a place with Ballantine on tap will be a great day. 'Til then I'll enjoy my green bottles.

When spending a night out with friends I prefer Miller Light because it truly is 'less filling' and I guess that's the ticket for me. I like stuff I can drink all damn night and not feel bloated or weighed down.

Also, I'd probably pay what you guys pay for a beer aged in a oak cask with buffalo smegma for a Lowenbrau if I could find it. I loved Lowenbrau as a teenager.
