Any of you guys ever been to Cabo? I am considering looking in to an Anniversary trip to Cabo, but I have no clue where to start looking. Is it best to use a travel agent or plan it myself? All expense paid? Any suggestions or advice?

Thank you in advance

Not Cabo, but my wife and I went to Excellence Punta Cana for our 25th and we loved it. It's adults only. We went through April with McGeehee Travel in Jackson. We loved it so much, we are going back in October.

I like Cabo, been twice. It reminds me of Maui but it’s is tough to swim in the

Ocean there due to currents. Great golf, infinity pools with awesome bars and restaurants on the
beach at a reasonable price.

The Iberostar Punta Cana is good too and adults only.

I'd wait for Madison Swinger's response before making a decision.

Went to Cabo in early April for 5 nights. Was awesome trip but we had boats rented for a fishing trip one day and a booze cruise on another. Stayed at Secrets and the rip tide was too strong to get in the water there. Beautiful but not sure what else we would’ve done without the boats, pool I guess. Secrets food sucks, don’t stay there but Cabo was cool experience. FYI - almost missed our connecting flight to Jackson from Houston cause of customs, we had 1:45 layover and had to run to gate. Give yourself plenty of time.

We had the same issue flying through ATL to Gulfport on our way back from Turks and Caicos a few years back. Had around a 2-hr layover and got to the plane less than 5-mins before they were going to close the door.

We’re doing a trip next spring for our 20th anniversary and decided to take our kids and invite my mom and my wife’s parents. Not having to deal with customs was one of the main reasons we choose the US Virgin Islands since we’ll have three 70-yr olds with us that haven’t traveled much...

Was Turks and Caicos a great trip?

Went to Cabo in February with wife and college kids. The thing to know is you have Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. They are about 20 minutes apart and are night and day difference. Cabo San Lucas is the party pl , with all the bars restaurants and tourist stuff. It’s easy to get around downtown by the marina to all the bars and restaurants. We stayed at the Riu, because it was cheap and again because we had kids, and the food wasn’t great but we had a good time.
San Jose is more calm with really nice resorts with calmer crowd and will cost a bit more. There is a really nice Hilton there that friends stayed at a few months back and they loved it. Cabo is spring break type place and San Jose is for relaxing alone time.

It was awesome and I would love to go back. We didn’t do the all inclusive thing - we rented a place on VRBO and rented a car. I liked it because we went to several beaches where we were the only people on the beach. Compare that to Hawaii (went there 1.5 years ago) where by 9:00 all the beaches (even out of way ones) were packed and we had to park a mile away and walk.

We met a few couples that were doing the Club Med all inclusive thing and they said it was awesome too. None of them rented a car, but the resort had a shuttle that would take them to the various off property popular beaches.

Food was expensive and a case of Coors Light/Bud Light/Miller Light was $75. But I had done research and went to a bottled water distribution place and could buy cases of the local Turks Head Lager for $34 cash. Of course if you do all inclusive you’re not worried about that.

If you go there I would highly recommend taking the ferry from Provo to North Caicos for a day trip. You can rent a Jeep on North Caicos at the ferry dock (call ahead) to drive to the various sights and more awesome beaches and you can drive across the causeway to Middle Caicos to go to even more.

This place is awesome, and fairly new. It is walking distance from the marina. Marlin and tuna fishing are amazing. Cant really get in the ocean, except a few coves, water is cold and currents are deadly.
