My neighborhood just got it and they are installing at my house next Tuesday. It looks like it will be this mesh wifi with Plume pods. Any comments good or bad?

I've had the internet for a few years and love it. I can't think of a single time it went out. I get better speeds here than my office usually. It's the best internet service I've ever had.
We moved to a new house in September and they switched me over to the mesh/plume things. No complaints there either. A little slower on the speedtest than when I was hardwired in, obviously, but still have no trouble streaming multiple devices or working from home.

CSpire and ATT fiber blow away anything else. It’s better than DSL or Cable internet. I’ve had ATT fiber for almost two years now, have never lost service, and it’s fantastic for streaming and gaming.
Just one warning. The TV runs off of an Amazon Firestick. So, you will be required to have a firestick for every TV. Also, since it runs off of a Firestick, the remote is a FS remote. If you are not familiar, it does not have numbers etc. It's all scroll based. It IS a fast scroll, but its a scroll. The positive is that it does keep several of your last viewed stations so it's pretty easy to go back and forth between stations already recently viewed.
As for the MESH WIFI. Depends on how big your house is and where you will do most of your use. I have my office set up in the upstairs room and the WIF can be a little spotty at times. (mostly for the TV - computer seems to work ok) I could get another mesh pod I suppose (I have 2 already). But it would cost more money. It's also a little deceiving when they tell you they have 940 MBPS. You would only get that if you plugged directly in to the main hard line. But everything runs off the mesh system which distributes that throughout all mesh and devices. In most cases, if you are near a mesh, you will still get over 150 mbps which is incredible. Just saying the 940 is not reality.
It’s fantastic. I just bought my own router though. I regularly get 700 MBs plus both up and down wireless through the router.
they were able to run the cable to the outside modem down behind my TV. I run Apple TV 4K, wired into the router, and run Cspire TV. The picture definition was actually improved over the Direct TV picture.
no outages since last June install. Not one. I highly recommend both.
I am NOT going to get C SpireTV right now. I am going to test out FUBO and Youtube TV. The reason for FUBO is we are hooked on that stupid Curse of Oak Island show on the History Channel. I have a combination of Samsung and ROKU TVs and FUBO is a channel on each of those. I already have one 4 port switch and an 8 port switch that I will probably hook up. I also have a TP-LINK Powerline pair to move hardlines to opposite ends of the house.
I am dropping xfinity which I have had for 2+ years now. They have worked themselves up by 70 dollars during that time and the last straw was them dropping Norton 360 which I used for my families computers. So that was going to cost me some more. The other Final issue was that my sound has gotten choppy over the past few months and I didn't want to go through debugging that.
I have CSpire Fiber and get such high speeds when wired but not through wireless (I have google wifi and apple MacMini and 2016 MBPro). What hardware you using to get 700MB over wireless?

my question is with the energy companies now being able to provide internet, are they generally going to be less expensive? the price doesn't bother me, but seems this is a govt issued mandate, i know speeds will be great, but are they going to price it out like comcast/att etc?

I had the fiber installed around New Years. Rock solid, and performs impressively. Purchased a WiFi-6 router capable of covering my modest sized home, as well as handling the bandwidth available. I have loads of devices, and it’s been worth every cent.
I’ve had it for about two weeks. Switched from xfinity. I passed on their mesh product and bout the Ubiquiti AMPLIFI mesh router. I have had zero issues whatsoever. Tons of bandwidth and no issues with congested lines in high traffic times. Gaming has been wonderful. I need a little bit more time but I so far I would highly recommend.
Internet is amazing. Cspire came and set up 3 routers in various places in my house. I consistently get 300-400 mbps from anywhere in my house (old 2 story house with lots walls - not an open floor plan). It’s $80/month for me.
The TV is not bad. Works great and the lineup is good too. I just thought it was overpriced. We had it for about a year and switched to YouTube TV.
We've had it since early 2014. It never goes out. 913 download speeds. 928 upload speeds. been that way since the first day it was installed. I use my own network gear (Fortigate firewall and Aruba switch and access points). We don't use the streaming TV offering from C Spire. We've stayed with the standard TV setup from C Spire, with the boxes and a separate drop at each TV. Love it. I have a static IP on my internet connection, and we have two phone lines on it, and my total bill for internet, TV, and phones is $263/mo.
Im doing cspire fiber with youtube tv and love it
YTTV interface is nice. You can put the channels in any order you want. And it has a home page that’s intuitive so if a state game is on it is the first thing on the home page

Love the internet. I got it last year after I started working from home and could immediately tell the significant speed difference from the Maxxsouth I had and I was paying for their fastest speed. I bought my own modem and works great and have had no problems with it getting signals to every room in my house.
I would not do the cable. It is nothing special. I started it two months ago after HULU live raised its rates because it was only nominally more expensive. Bought 3 firesticks (already had 3 roku). Within a month, they raised the price 20 bucks a month. So I want to go back to HULU but they are forcing me to go through and pay for 2 months of service before they will cancel it. IT'S AN APP AND THERE IS NO CONTRACT. In my mind that's robbery. So just use hulu or youtube or sling.
Netgear Nighthawk X6S router. It’s wasn’t cheap. But I decided that if I was going to have a second TV run wireless, I might as well get something like it.
I don’t know why anyone would say it’s “horrible”. I’m satisfied with it. But this is the first streaming TV I have ever had. I guess it may be the guide interface. But the Apple remote just flicks right through the guide. I’m not much of a channel flipper either.
