You have a point but only if the wife/girlfriend isn’t looking for a Brunch and a Mimosa.
Have yet to know a female that doesn’t want brunch unless she’s hungover as hell and she and you also need a good greasy breakfast.

Let me tell you why it’s not close to elite.
Flies - couldn’t even eat outside because of them, had to move inside and there were still the occasional one or two dive bombing our food.
The boiled peanuts, I can get Cajun spiced ones out of a pot of water in most gas stations that beat Saw’s.
The collard greens were so salty that it made them just bad and in-edible.
The smoked chicken thighs were way too dry.
Kinda hard to 17 up smoked/grilled chicken but they succeeded.
Tried some of the pulled pork and it was good but as I said in my previous comment, Saws in Homewood pulled pork is so much better
Atmosphere and cold beer at Saws Juke Joint with friends is why I go back occasionally but it’s definitely not for their food.

Another Saw's BBQ fan here, but if you have a specific dish in mind, check the location menu beforehand...they're all close, but not identical. I think at least one doesn't have ribs while another doesn't have the smoked wings.

If you like meat-and-three lunches, Johnny's in Homewood. Ignore the UM paraphernalia.
Eugene's Hot Chicken is another great lunch if you like Nashville-style chicken, but get there early unless you like lines and waiting.
Odd category, but if you want Chicago deep dish pizza, try Tortuga's.

Our favorite Italian place has slipped a little over the last couple of years, so no help in that genre.

Johnny's is overrated. For meat and three the only place for a visitor is Nikki's West.
