I flipped over to the Arizona/UConn game and Dave Pasch asked Bill Walton if Duke had better talent than Arizona and Bill Walton responded with “no because Arizona has DeAndre Ayton” his tone when he said it was a tone of shock/surprise that Dave Pasch even asked him that question. Bill Walton is one of the all time college and NBA greats but man he’s done way too many drugs in his lifetime. lol

I was half paying attention, but the talk was about cats and dogs (Zona the cats and UConn the dogs)....then Walton asked Pasch how his dog Dexter was doing at home. Pasch responds, “he died three years ago.” Then awkward silence. About three seconds later Walton says, “sorry to hear that,” in a quiet and unassuming voice.

Crazy that he won the Naismith Award three years in a row. People act like “unicorns” are a new thing. Bill put up 20,15, 5.5 for his college career. If he had a 3-pt line, he could’ve knocked a few of those down too.

Announcing is getting a bit cringey, but he’s entertaining when the game sucks.

Yea I heard that! I found it pretty irritating when he said that! After Duke’s loss to BC, I feel they have been disrespected a bit and Marvin Bagley has taken a back seat to Ayton all of a sudden! Taking the Duke shaded glasses off, I still think Marvin is better than Deandre Ayton and that Duke is still the better team.

Bagley just needs to put a little bit more into the defensive side of the ball and he’s the overall number one pick imo.

Watching a game the other night and Bill started talking about some book. Asked the other guy if he read it. The other announcer was like “nope. Never heard of it.” Bill goes on for a few minutes and I’m thinking “please let this relate to basketball.” Bill finally finishes with “the guy in the book does. Sorry if I spoiled the ending and you were gonna read it.” The other announcer was like “I wasnt. Don’t worry.” Dude is hilarious to listen to though.

I get so fed up with announcers, both play-by-play and color men, ramble about things that have nothing to do with the game but in blowout games can kind of make it entertaining. Bill was one of the greatest ever but definitely wears PAC-12 colored glasses and is off the wall. One of the funniest things I will never forget was that he was doing one of Lebron James' HS games and said, "It isn't until you see him in the locker room that you realize how much of a man he really is". I nearly fell off my chair!

I CANNOT listen to a bill Walton commentated game. He can’t call for crap, he’s going off on tangents 75% of the time or arguing with Dave about statistics. I don’t know why they insist on employing him but he’s easily the worst commentator in college BB maybe all sports.

I think it’s a matter of taste. I’m not a huge fan, either, but many are.

How many of you here ever watched or listened to a Yankee game with Bill White and Phil Rizzuto? Although they were two different people and personalities Walton reminds me of The Scooter. Rizzuto kept White in stitches with his stories and wondering into off topics. Walton really doens't bother me. Just like DJ said. It's a matter of taste. Some people like potted meat some don't. OFC

If Bill did a Duke game, I'd probably he extremely irritated. Luckily we never get him. I love listening to him though for any other team.
