Koontz but not by much and honestly it’s probably more of a personal preference with me.

Also Hail State! Way to beat those Cocks last night!

In his early days, I couldn't wait for the next Stephen King book to come out. But now it seems to me that he is being paid by the word. I tried him again after a long time, and gave up about 25 pages in. Couldn't stay awake.

Probably comes down the preference, but Koontz typically doesn’t take as long to “get going” as most would prefer. The first King book I read was 11/22/63 and it was great!

I really like them both, but I haven't read any koontz that I like as well as the dark tower series and the talisman

King's 1963 is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. I'll definitely read it again in the near future as soon as I get a couple of new books out of the way.

King had a better peak but Koontz is more consistent. That early run from King is insane with Cujo, Pet Sematary, It, The Stand, my personal favorite Salem’s Lot, etc. But King has also had some pretty ****** books while I don’t think I’ve ever read a bad Dean Koontz book. Some Koontz faves include Intensity, Midnight, Strangers, and The Bad Place.

The only book I read of King's was the Gunslinger, and while I really liked the plot/story, I hated his writing style. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I don't know what it was, but the way he writes was painful to me.
Eta: I read it with the intentions of reading the entire saga, but couldn't bring myself to do another one

Gunslinger was awful. It takes off in book 2 though

Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this. The series was supposed to be fantastic, and I came away thinking it was awful

King. The Stand, It, 11/22/63, and Wizard and Glass are some of the best books I’ve ever read.

I like Koontz. His stories are strictly a formula like Dan Brown novels, but King has the better overall stories generally. I am not sure that Koontz has ever written anything as good as The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, IT, The Stand, or Pet Sematary, just to name a few.

Sure they could. Opinions on literature are mainly subjective, but thanks for stopping by and letting me know that opinions may differ. 10/10 post, would read again.

11-22-63 is the best book I've ever read. Over a 1000 pages and I read it in4 days. Love a lot of his movies but 11-22-63 is the only book of his I've read.

King and it isn’t close.

I absolutely loved The Dark Tower series.
Th Green Mile, Duma Key and The Mr Mercedes series are super under rated

If Stephen King were an SEC football team, he’d be the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Dean Koontz ain’t beating Alabama.

Needful Things, The Tommyknockers ... King has a wealth of good books. I don't know how he writes so much ... all of his books are huge.
