Great place. Easy and cheap to get there but very pricey once there.

I wouldn't stay in Hamilton nor would I ride a moped.

+1000 on not renting mopeds in Bermuda. They have decent public transportation and you can buy unlimited bus/ferry passes.

Stayed at Fairmont Southampton a few years ago and enjoyed it.

Last year we tried Pompano Beach Club. pricey all-inclusive built into a cliff on the west side. Absolutely loved it.

Did some work there a couple decades ago. Lots of offshore $ in Hamilton banks. Hamilton Princess was my HQ. During WWII, all overseas mail to and from the USA was routed to the Princess for security screening in the basement. Try a few "Dark 'n Stormies."

I played Port Royal, it is really good.

Is it "$230 (greens fees plus rentals) and piss off your wife by being gone for 6 hours on vacation just to play as a single" good?

Asking for a friend.
So my wife ended up booking me a tee time at Port Royal as a birthday present. Problem solved.

Anyone have experience renting clubs from them?

The beach we liked best was called Tobacco Bay. Laid back beach bar, jamming tunes and a beautiful cove to swim in and snorkeling as well.

Had the fiancé on the moped the whole time, drove all over the island, no issues. Just have to be careful on those right turns.

Played mid-ocean. What a great track... a Charles Blair Macdonald masterpiece, and as a golf fiend, worth the price for me.

Loved Bermuda, enjoy.

Rentals are $50 or $60 bucks from there. Not bad but if you're playing a few times I'd bring clubs. Enjoy, you'll have a blast! Great present from your wife! Bring a camera (phone or better). You could have her ride along in the cart, the views are fabulous!

here is my advice, don't go! I lived there for 3 years. there are much better places to go that have better hotels, restaurants, things to do at a much more affordable price.

IMO cig04 is the sage in this thread. He lived there for 3 years and advises to go elsewhere. Respect his experience in Bermuda.

Keep in mind that the weather in Bermuda is similar to the Carolinas. In October that may be hit or miss temperature wise.

Beaches aren't great, food is mediocre and expensive, difficult transportation options and weather is iffy in October. The guys will be pissed at you if this happens. Won't mention hurricane options.

Look for an alternative with warm weather and hot chicks nearby. Cancun and dozens of other locations are clearly better IMO.

Surprised nobody suggested a cruise. Better food, less expensive overall compared to a good hotel, and with the packages some of them are running now you get free drinks all cruise. You get less time on the actual island, but Bermuda can be seen/experienced in three days with no problem. Just got back from my fourth cruise to Bermuda and it was a great time.
