On Thursday afternoon Manny Machado hit career HR #350. He became one of only five active players with at least 350 HRs.
Name the other four.

Not sure if it’s them, but they seem 350 caliber. Guessing Judge and Ohtani haven’t been around long enough. Thought about McCutchen too just because he’s been playing forever.

Edit: wow just looked it up and see I’m missing a name that seems obvious. Just figured he’s been hurt too much to accumulate 350…guess I forget how young he was when he started.

Cutch does have 2000 hits which three of these guys do not. Machado is closest with 1970.

Judge has 336, Ohtani only has 248

For those playing along Harper is the one that is incorrect. He has 345.
One more to go.

Not a trivia question, but during the Mets broadcast the other night, Gary Cohen said there are only two active players who played in Shea Stadium. One was Kershaw and I forgot the other. Did anyone else hear that? Probably should post this in the Mets thread too.

Thought maybe Freddie Freeman but think it may be David Robertson?

According to Grok:
"There are no active MLB players in the 2025 season who played at Shea Stadium, which closed after the 2008 season. A claim on X suggested Clayton Kershaw as one of two active pitchers who started games there, but this appears inaccurate based on available data. Kershaw debuted in 2008, and there’s no record of him pitching at Shea Stadium before its closure. Similarly, no other current players are listed as having played there, per sources like Reddit discussions on active players from that era. The last active players known to have played at Shea, such as David Robertson, were noted as free agents or retired by 2021, and no definitive evidence confirms any active players in 2025 with Shea Stadium experience."

(Copilot and Gemini didn't find anyone either)

Clayton Kershaw's second Major League start was indeed at Shea Stadium in 2008, where he pitched against the New York Mets. His first start was at Dodger Stadium on May 25, 2008.

Nope.

On May 30, 2008, Dodger rookie Clayton Kershaw was the starting pitcher against the Mets at Shea.

Then 12 days later, on June 11, 2008, Diamondback rookie Max Scherzer appeared in relief against the Mets at Shea.

As Casey used to say, you can look it up.

Grok apologizes LOL (Have found AI often has to apologize)

"My apologies for the earlier oversight. You’re correct that Clayton Kershaw did pitch at Shea Stadium on May 30, 2008. According to Baseball Almanac and other records, Kershaw started for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium on that date, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 7 hits, with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks in a no-decision game (Mets won 9-5)"
