We were going to go there last year but the person that was going to be our guide ended up being an ISIS operative. Who knew? Aynway, he ended up driving over his own IED and blew up his '77 EL Camino he used as a tour vehicle so we had to cancel.

Lived in Cary. Just down the road... We were historically significant - - - had our own Indian mound!! And even found dugout canoe to take evening cruises on deer creek.. And oh yeah... Almost forgot to mention the old haunted house!!

A few years back I started thinking about how rural Issaquena county is and convinced myself that it must have the lowest population density east of the Mississippi. So I did some research and... nope, that designation belongs to a county in the last place you'd think: New York.

I was CERTAIN you had to be wrong about this, but nope. Hamilton County NY is correct (by quite a bit, actually). Apparently, it's entirely within a state park and and more or less any development is restricted.

Never deer hunted up there but had a few hellacious dove hunts a couple of miles north of Cary on Ben Lamensdorf's farm....we hunted sunflower fields and always shot our limit!!!!

As a proud owner of an issaquena tag I had atleast two or three people ask me while in college at state where the hell it was and If it was actually a place.
