Saw it last night. It’s really good but it’s also pretty dark. The Wayne family Easter eggs are great

I've heard the build up is satisfactory anticipation. Is it the best joker yet?

Depending on my mood, I’ll tell you that either Heath Ledger, Jack, or Mark Hamill are the best. Hearing great things about this performance though.

I saw it Thursday night. While I t wasn’t the best movie I’ve ever seen, I could see myself watching it a dozen times in the next 10 years. Definitely dark with some plot twists that make you start thinking about how it is going to play out in the rest of the movie and then it twists again and you realized you wasted 10 minutes wondering about the first plot twist. Phoenix is amazing in it. He has some uncomfortably awkward scenes that he nails with the character and the laughing.

If nothing else, it has two or three of the darkest laughs a movie has ever gotten. Violence wise I've seen a lot worse, but they do a lot with what they do present.

Movie was odd to me. They went as real as possible how a man could transform into the joker.

If I didn’t know this was based on a comic book character before hand, I would never guess that’s the case. Was just too realistic. I can’t see this joker masterminding elaborate villainous plans against Batman and others.

The Dark Knight will forever be my favorite Batman universe film, but Joker was really, really good. It’s also hard to compare it to anything else because it wasn’t intended to do anything other than tell a deep, psychological story about how the Joker came to be.

As another poster mentioned, there are at least 4-5 very uncomfortable scenes and it isn’t at all for kids, but I thought it was a pretty powerful movie. A lot of folks are screaming about how dark it is, but I thought it was a perfectly reasonable portrayal of what a mentally disturbed individual with no support channels can become when he’s pushed to the absolute edge

No, but only because we'll never know.

While he does transform into the Joker by the end of the film, we don't really get to see him as the Joker, doing Joker things. In my mind, Heath Ledger's portrayal is still the best. Seeing Dark Knight in theaters was easily the best cinematic experience I've ever had.

the writers of this film created the most realistic representation of a psychopath that I have ever seen. To be honest, I found his character development to be disturbing... With that said... I will watch Joker a couple more times while it’s in theatre's. Captivating is an understatement.

Saw a comment from the director basically saying he pitched it to phoenix as comic book movies are the only big budget movies now, so let's make a real movie and use the comic book hook to get a big budget.

Yes, and like I said in previous post...this Joker is not the type to concoct villainous schemes. He’s really not even the joker, at least not as I know the joker.

I won't give much away, but keep in mind you're seeing things from the Joker's prospective and who knows just how much we see is real or what's in his head.Batman isn't there to filter things for the audience.

It's up there,Phoenix is the perfect actor to pull off a role like the Joker. They can't just do a one off with this movie and never let us see this Joker have a run in with Batman.I doubt WB will allow that to happen given how much money this movie is already making.

Nice observation. I wondered about the same thing throughout the movie, especially when it came to his "romantic" interest and his mother.
