OT: Anyone had severe vertigo …..

Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist. They manipulate your head in some weird ways and make you lay still with weird head positions in order to re-position the liquid in your inner ear. This **** worked wonders for my motion sick, vomiting, dizzy as hell *** in like 30-45 minutes. Life went back to normal immediately.

My whole family has it. Meclizine works sometimes but not always. It's all inner ear related. The procedure that Schmuley mentioned works for some but unfortunately didn't work for my case. I can sometimes just look up or watch a crazy motion video on youtube and it will set mine off.

My ENT had me do all sorts of testing that included balancing in the dark and other things. They have a device that blows warm air inside your ear which damn near made me start vomiting right then. They wanted to do my other ear and I told them I'm done. I had to sit in the lobby for 30 minutes before I could drive home. I was dizzy for the rest of the day.

Good luck, vertigo is no joke.

Currently dealing with vertigo with headache that has gotten increasingly worse this years. ENT ct my sinus and ears and didn’t see a problem.
Going to a neurologist next week
Sometimes it’s just wobbly but sometimes I have to lay on the ground

Have Meineires and lost hearing on one side.
When it happened, went to Shae Ear Clinic in Memphis. They did a procedure where they apply a topical steroid in the inner ear.

It did help the ringing and full feeling in ear but did not help the hearing loss. Ended up taking a weeks vac to recover from the procedure. It set off extreme vertigo. I could sit in a chair and it felt like I was being pulled backwards by a rope.

After a week that got better. Still have to avoid loud, inside activities (basketball ballgames, concerts,...) Because it causes ringing.

For me turning a certain way or straining the muscles on that side of neck sets it off. Fortunately, if I lay completely flat for 3-5 minutes it seems to reset.

I do take meclizine and valium helps some kinds of vertigo.

Always stay on antihistamines and keep decongestants handy because any fluid in the ear makes it a lot worse.

My wife started getting vertigo after he second covid vaccine (moderna). Dietary changes seemed to fix 98% of it. No caffeine, no alcohol, very little salt. All kidding aside, I'd rather have vertigo that have to deal with dietary restriction.

Sounds like your situation is very similar to that of golfer Jason Day. He apparently got over it but I have no idea what he did.

I've got a friend who suffers quite severe vertigo. Nothing he's done has helped, including several doctors.

My wife was recently diagnosed with 'situational vertigo' by her ENT.... sudden onset that lasted off and on for a couple of weeks. ENT says there are tiny 'crystals' in the ear that get dislodged and cause the condition. If it comes back and continues, then they can manipulate her head until the crystals are back in proper place ... so far not needed to go for further treatment.

I’ve dealt with vertigo off and on for years. I take Meclizine and it helps. The last couple of times I had problems with it I went to my family doctor and she cleaned my ears out with warm water/peroxide-alcohol. You cannot imagine the horrible **** that comes out of my ears when she does that. After a good cleaning I’m usually good for a few months until it builds up again.

Ok. Not gonna lie. When I read your post the first time, I saw mescaline instead of meclizine.

Been dealing with it for a couple of years. Meclazine works sometimes. I’m about to the point of giving up. It’s miserable. Double vision, nausea, and just general crappy feeling usually comes with it.

Dawg, it depends on what's causing it. Mine is caused by either one or two things. After a bad cold or flue, an antihistamine like Alegra seems to help. It can also be caused by TMJ jaw disorder. Yes. If you have a TMJ problem, go see your dentist and get him to make you a TMJ splint. Sleep in it at night. It keeps you from grinding your teeth which makes it worse. I put my splint in 4 days ago and the TMJ paid and vertigo is gone. I hope you will check into this. Good luck bro.

Mine came on suddenly this time the day after the flu shot, terrible for about 24 hours. Last year about this time and the first time I ever had it, lasted 11 days. Some miserable, miserable sh|T!!!
