Have any of you heard of a company called Sardis Telecom? https://www.sardistel.com/

They are primarily in Alabama, though residents in surrounding states can use it if they live near the Alabama border. If any of you happen to use it for your internet, I would appreciate some constructive input. I'm ready to pull the plug on ATT, the only other option besides this, is satellite internet.

No experience, but this may be an option for my folks' house in Clay County where they've never been able to get good internet. Based on their address the preliminary check says it should work.

Thanks for this. I am about to move from Tupelo to just outside of Saltillo city limits and they have no other option other than satellite internet. Until now, apparently. I don't like the data caps and don't like how slow satellite internet is. This will not only be cheaper, it will be better.

Fiber is coming, but it could be a few years away. This should suffice in the meantime at least.

Here's to the Pack for helping me save money!

Stupid question but how is this different from using a cell phone as a hot spot?

I should add that a family down the street from us has this service and is very pleased with it. I was hoping for other opinions before I pull the plug on ATT.

If the satellite internet you refer to is Hughes Net, I would ask for input from local users or former users in that area. My daughter moved in w/ a roommate that already had it and she ended up blowing up our cellular data plan because their satellite internet was not very dependable.

Don't forget that the regional electrical co-ops can now bring the net to customers. Apparently four have begun the fiber installation process, whatever that entails.

This is going to happen to bring fiber internet to everyone in MS, but it will take some time depending on where you live. I would suspect for the house I am buying off of a county road, it will likely take 2-3 years. If I can do this in the meantime, then great. It's better than satellite.

This is only for the cooperatives, if you are on a municipal power grid then this doesn't apply.
