Agree. The latest tech material golf shirts, shorts and outerwear are far superior to what was available 5-10 years ago. The new materials will stretch with your body swing movements, are water/wind/waterproof available and look good as well.

Or you can wear cargo shorts and a tee shirt, if not a wife beater shirt to relax in during your round of golf. It’s clearly a personal choice IMO. I’m not against the tee shirt guys on the golf course. As long as we aren’t playing the same course at the same time. Hopefully Security has turned them away at the entry gate, ha!

PS - Played Metuchen CC a few times in the 80’s and liked the course a lot. Loved the short 19th hole they setup of 50 yards to settle 18 hole bets of the members. Have never seen that anywhere. Lots of construction company owners at Metuchen. Similar to Bamm Hollow in many ways IMO. May BH RIP. Good times w good guys there.

I don't know any private courses today that require pants. Only the PGA and the professional Majors do. You can wear shorts in all USGA amateur events.

I can’t imagine wearing cargo shorts on the golf course. I see guy wearing those and they get swamp. Not a good look.

Bel Air Country Club requires pants. It's the funnest club I've ever been to. Simply awesome.

You can wear shorts at place at like Annandale or even LACC, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Golf shirts are much more comfortable than a tight tshirt. Don't understand why anyone would hate a loose golf shirt.

I think most golfer will not go back to that as respect to Payne. Rickey wore knickers last year in tribute to Payne but I don't see it coming.

What normal workplace doesn’t require collars on shirts? Years ago people used to wear nice clothes to ballgames, church and on airplanes. On airplanes now I see people wearing pajamas. It’s been a steady decline that mimics society. Whatever happened to the expression of dress for the role you want? You don’t need to wear a suit to look good.

It seems to me collarless shirts are not new. I remember them being popular on tour for a while in the early 60's. Doug Sanders, Tony Lema, and Tony Jacklin come to mind.

They were all sweater guys back then. Maybe you could call them mock turtlenecks but they look an awful lot like the current collarless shirts. In the chilly weather I wore them at the course too.

I wish they would raise prices on airline tickets. The riff raff is making a non pleasant experience even worse. First class isn’t even what it was pretty recently. Except on international flights.
