The day he no longer looks perpetually constipated will be the next interesting day in the life of Tiger Woods for me. :cool2:

Ha! What is worse is these new collarless shirts he is wearing. By the end of the round it looks like he slept in it for a few days. All stretched out. Certainly not Nikes best product.

I hate hate HATE that Tiger and a few other guys who are looked at by the younger crowd as someone to emulate are wearing these no collar shirts. What happened to the golf tradition they are always talking about.

Hasn’t he been wearing those for a while? Didn’t he start wearing them once he juiced that one off-season? [cheers]

Are you saying I can't wear a tank top on the course today??

Well, they're at least better than those godawful shirts Phil started wearing (they're as bad as the "puffy shirt" on Seinfeld).

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm OK with the Phil long sleeve white collared shirt. If it catches on, I can go play 9 right after work without even a wardrobe change. Only downfall is it won't show off the guns.

I just want to see everyone wear a collar or at least stay away from tee shirts. On the other side of this I'm fine with PGA guys wearing shorts if they like. So I'm conflicted but want at least some of the traditions preserved.

Log sleeve shirt you say?

Then again I wear a tie to one RU game a year and often to bowl games.

Cool. You think I can get away with those pants at work? Tried to get my wife into golf by explaining the importance of wardrobe. She looked interested for a few minutes. Leave Phil alone, and lobby to ban John Daly.

If not I'd get a new job.

All of the private clubs where I’ve been a member require a shirt with a collar. But some clubs allow the collarless shirts, although many do not.

We played at Canoe Brook in Summit a few years ago and they allowed collarless shirts on the course but not in the clubhouse. Go figure.

Just confirmed Tiger vs Phil made for TV match Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas.

Interested or yawn?

Before we discuss this week's tournament, where Tiger is currently 6 shots ahead of Spieth, can we make sure the field is good enough for Cali? I don't want to hear, after the fact, that the field wasn't strong enough to count.

T8 (-3) with 8 others at the moment. I don't believe there's many who don't realize Tiger can go low. The issue is can he put together 4 rounds good enough to win. No doubt it would be a real shot in the arm for the tour if he were to win this big a tourney. Look at the buzz Phil created by winning the earlier WGC in Mexico. Tiger winning would dwarf that.

One thing for sure, with his track record at Firestone, confidence shouldn't be a problem.

Always hated dress codes at clubs (at work, anywhere, really), which is one of the reasons I never joined one. Plus, when I played a lot, I liked playing all over the place rather than one course and I had friends who belonged to some nice clubs, so I did get to play some very nice courses back then (like Ridgewood, Forsgate, Metuchen, and Fiddler's Elbow).

What do you like to wear when you golf, oversized cargo shorts and sleeveless tees? That's what kept you from joining clubs?

Cargo shorts and a tee-shirt - comfort is the most important thing to me. I do have nice clothes for when they're required, but don't really like them. And yes, it was a factor in not joining a club (just not a fan of snootiness).

I'm with you. If I could live life in a t shirt and bike basketball shorts, I would. Golf in pants in August is dreadful. No thanks.

I don't know any private courses today that require pants. Only the PGA and the professional Majors do. You can wear shorts in all USGA amateur events.
