Not on the first hole. I just hit it a lot [roll]Hit it short enough not to lose a ball so I had that going for me! From the 3rd hole on and finally my second cold one I was back in the groove. And the Texas wedge on 2 got me going! Lol.

Tiger doesn’t look close to winning anything at this point. The next Euro Tour event is not willing to pay Tiger an appearance fee so he is not going. But they are paying appearance fees to others instead. So when does he play the next Tour event before the British Open? Or maybe he doesn’t play before the Open?

Unless Tiger gets hot later this season he looks more like a side show than a guy who is competing to win a tour event.

I agree. I have never watched a PGA tour event looking at the leader board and asking myself who the hell most of those guys are. It’s a terrible field.

Tiger not getting appearance fees is telling. The last thing he needs to lose is his marketability, whatever there is left of it.

Fransesco Molinari is a big time golfer who hasn't broken through on the PGA Tour...yet. Still plays both. When he breaks that glass ceiling he will be a regular winner on the tour. 5 wins in Europe and 2nd in the PGA Championship last year. Dude has game.
But yes this is an awful field

Tiger losing his marketability? Now you really sound stupid. Sorry for the name calling but you deserved it with that comment. I mean Tiger is so marketable, he could probably pulled off Phil’s stupid shirt.

If it’s true he didn’t get paid an appearance fee, his marketability is going the same way as his game.

Looks like another top 5 for Tiger. Not competitive at all, lol. He'll win soon, assuming he stays healthy. Molinari is simply on fire, 9 strokes ahead of the field and -6 through 5 on the back and -8 through 13.

PGA does not pay appearance fees. Nor can a single tourament. The sponsor can work an endorsement deal which requires to play. I don't know of any endorsement deal by Quicken Loans and Tiger so he gets nothing extra.

Say goodbye to Tiger hosting the Quicken Loans DC area golf event after last week. His foundation loses a big account to pay its bills. Tiger screwed the Sponsor with his spotty attendance at the tournament in the past. Now Quicken has jettisoned him in favor of sponsoring a future event in the Detroit area.

Who else in that tournament was worth following? I would hope he has crowds since it was his tournament.

Although I like a Tiger, I slightly disagree he is marketable. Outside of Nike ( and I never see people wearing TW gear on the course), what are his big endorsements? He is a big draw for TV because people like rooting for the underdog. Which he is now.

So Tiger is a big draw for TV but not marketable. Got it. As long as Tiger is healthy to play next year, a new sponsor will pick it up. The fact that QL has been mentioned multiple times here shows it’s worth the money.

I am one guy. But I haven't watched one hole of golf while Tiger was out. Now that he's back, I've watched almost every tournament he's played. Again, just one guy, but I don't think I'm alone on this one.

He’s competing, with other guys who can’t compete against the big guys. I’ve never seen a PGA tour field that bad.

Most people watch NASCAR for the crashes. That pretty much describes Tiger right now.

I'm with you there Mike. Love watching golf (it's like meditation) and don't need Tiger to enjoy. It's just a bonus to have this aging, more-human legend out there competing, and he is competing at a top level despite what some want to believe. In no way is it a side show (well I get he gets too much coverage to some). Not saying he's near the Tiger of old or ever will be, but he's clawing his way back up the rankings and it simply makes the game more entertaining. Period.

I guess they figure it’s his only chance to win an event. It’s like watching an old timers game. Pure nostalgia. If they really wanted a good match, have him go against DJ.

DJ would destroy him. Like he did when they played together at that last tourney. That was embarrassing for Tiger. DJ is the epitome of the modern golfer. Tiger is what modern golf used to look like.

It reminds me of when Tiger dominated and Davis Love III would crap his pants when going against Tiger. Reality is that Tiger is in the DLIII role now.

Except Tiger would actually win the tournament. DJ had 2 good days and 2 terrible days. Better check your reality.

I’m kind of late to the show for golf as I’ve only gotten into the sport over the past 3-4 years. I would still like to watch the match but would’ve liked to see a few other big names involved also
