In 2015 he missed 4 cuts and WD in another where he was going to miss the cut. In 2017 he missed the cut in only tournament. So far this year he will be 1 missed cuts in two events. This from a guy who almost never missed a cut throughout his entire career.

I’m not a Tiger fan but IMO this missed cut is no big deal.
He didn’t play well the past 2 days, especially today. He has some areas that need improvement. And he will work on them.
But that doesn’t mean that he is done or will have a poor 2018 season. It is one tournament on his comeback.
I played golf on my home course today and shot 12 strokes over my handicap. A poor performance for sure. But does todays score determine that I will play poorly the rest of the season? Of course not.
Tiger needs time to get his game back together. Give him some time.

T117 or whatever doesn't scream comeback but I think expectations were way out of whack to begin with. It just seems to me looking at what Tiger has gone thru physically at 40+ and the level of competition he'll face should greatly temper any thoughts of a return to glory.
You hit the nail on the head with "give him some time". Baring any further issues I'll be interested where he stands when they hit the US Open. Despite his previous success at the Masters I don't see him doing much right now.
For Tiger fans I'd say his playing two weeks in a row is a good sign.
The return to glory was never happening. Earlier predictions are right. With the incredible fields now, much younger, healthier guys, Tiger making cuts at tournaments with big fields should be goal. Maybe compete for a day. Maybe win a smaller tournament if he enters them.

I'd agree the chances are very slim. I remember Arnie on the downside of his career. He played ok in several majors but never really contended for 4 days much past age 40. I could see Tiger doing the same.
PGA Tour has moved to Florida and onto a tough Honda Classic. Holes 15, 16, 17, the Bear Trap lived up to its hype yesterday. Great finishing stretch. If the winds stay up its going be a tough grind but a great tournament.
Tiger played well yesterday, is top 20 after round 1. But we all know its a 4 round tournament and he need to show he can put 4 good rounds together.

His short game was pretty good yesterday. Pretty much only had 1 bad hole. It seems to me he just isn't able to string a number of good (Tour Level) shots together yet.
As usual with the wind 17 was giving players fits yesterday.
He’s tied for 23, not top 20.
With this less than stellar field, these are the tournaments he must do very well in if he is to be considered even close to what he once was.

Guess who’s back, back again. Tigers back tell your friends. Just want to stay in this thread as a reminder that I said from the start he would get back to one of the top players in the world. He is right on track. Ball striking is coming back. Putting, which you said would be the first to go, is already back with the best in the world. You couldn’t have been more wrong there. It’s only a matter of time. 124 mph swing speed which is the same as in his prime. It’s all happening.
He is currently tied for 14th in a very average field after not contending and missing the cut.

7 of the top 15 players are here, but that’s nit what it is about. It is about his game. It’s getting closer. Ball striking, short game, swing speed, course management etc. getting closer to being back.
A fully healthy Tiger will be a top 5 golfer again and will compete to win majors and might even win 1-2 more - can't believe people can't see that. However, I think he's too old and there are too many good young golfers for him to ever be dominant again, like he was in his first 12 years on tour.
moral to the story, if you're a golfer, don't bulk up.
age itself really lessens your range of motion.. don't double down on that by bulking up, which also lessens it.

can't help but notice how much shorter and quicker Tiger's swing is.

i can see him being more consistent and challenging some this yr once he starts playing regularly on the tour.

The next 2 rounds at the Honda Classic can be a great opportunity for Tiger to finish near the top of the leader board. But even if he falters we shouldn’t hold that against him. He appears to be on the pathway to success, whatever that holds for him this year and in the future.
Just imagine the excitement for the Tour if Tiger gets into the final group on Sunday. And the tournament is being held at PGA Natl in FL, the HQ of the PGA.

Great player who would have been very good without them but hasn’t been truly great since they started testing for Steroids and yes he was a steroid user, stupid decision on his part, he was very, very good without them but that crazy behavior with the strippers, explosive anger on the golf course and off it, the injuries, all a result of Cheating, which is who Tiger ALWAYS was, a cheater.

Very good round by Tiger today. So close to being back. Up to 128 today on a swing. Making big shots like he used to. I have actually raised my expectations. I thought he would come back and win a tournament or two. Maybe steal a major. Now I think he might get back to number 1. Dustin Johnson might **** himself if he plays Tiger in his red on a Sunday

Im already on record that he and Phil will never win on tour again so i dont get your point about anything Ive said. And I certainly havent changed my viewpount so why the hell would I make a bet with you??

I seriously doubt Tiger scares any of these top pros. He hasn.t been a factor in 4 years. He hasn't won a major in 10 years. He could be in contention and even squeeze a win or two out but some of you guys heed to look at the calendar. It's not 2013. Just ask Phil.
To believe Tiger was clean, you have to believe that the doctor from Canada he brought to Florida to "treat" him (even though he wasn't licensed to practice in the US) was using legal methods with Tiger only while he was using banned substances with his other athlete clients and was even arrested for smuggling PEDs into the US for them.
You do realize Tiger never met the guy until late 2008. How do you explain Tigers success before that when he won all his majors?

I wouldn’t count out Phil, he is having a very solid year so far. In five tournaments in the 2018 season, he has placed 5th, 2nd and 6th. Tiger is far far far far off from that type of success.
